WTF: The movie Congo had the tagline Where You Are The Endangered Species but I felt safe watching it

I haven't seen this particular cinematic masterwork, but looking over a plot summary, I think maybe it's actually a subtle, sophisticated commentary on the self-harm that is human-driven climate change, hence the whole endangered species thing.
 
Maybe you chose the wrong 1995 gorilla movie with a message? Did your ape know sign language? Was it narrated by Morgan Freeman?

I will admit to being “movie stupid”. Sometimes I have a hard time following movies even if the plot is pretty straightforward.

Thankfully, there was no such filth in Congo. But it did have bad gorillas getting shot with a laser. But not Amy, our sign-language gorilla. Amy good gorilla.
