The Great Deals Thread

Amazon has a deal right now for the Godin Kingpin CW II P90 for $775 (elsewhere $915). I got one of these almost two years ago, and it has quickly become one of my first go-to guitars. I enjoy playing it both acoustically and plugged in. Tough to beat Canadian craftsmanship at that price!

Godin 5th Avenue CW Kingpin II P90 Hollowbody Electric Guitar - Cognac Burst

This ugly Ric copyish 5 string bass is marked down to $319 with 0% financing (about $20/month). I really like the feel of Jackson basses. This is really a great deal for a neck thru 5 string if you can live with the color. It comes with a fairly nice looking Sadowsky gig bag. These sell for about $460 and up at GC and for $600 new. This is the only color available at this price at 0%. Maybe you can pretend to be Rick James. I pulled the trigger on one of these thinking that I probably won't lose money on it if I don't like it.

I did this the other day. This is after having purchased a bunch of bodies and necks from them over the past year or so.

How do you like the guitar. Guild sent me an offer for less than the advertised price and I'm on the fence.

It's a really nice guitar - well worth more than the $500 it's supposed to sell for. Frets are good, neck is good, electronics are good - I'm considering buying a second one, though I don't need it.

It's not a great deal - it's YOUR great deal. Now you're just teasing the rest of us here...
OK, I derped on my original response cuz I'm burnt.

What I meant to say was that the shop as a whole is a great deal. I've bought a bunch of parts from them at great prices and have been pretty happy.

Franklin Guitar Works on Reverb has a various guitars and basses on sale on Reverb with 0% financing. I bought my Jackson bass from them. Some things come with a free gig bag. These are mostly refurbished instruments and lots that they bought new at wholesale. Don't expect warranties. But there are some really good deals. This company usually takes 5 days or so to ship.
So, my Gretsch showed up and didn't even have the light scratches that were described in the listing. LOL Literally the only thing was that the pickguard was missing. It IS now apart, though, because I'm putting HS Filtertrons in it, but that's a me thing, not the guitar's fault. LOL

But, yeah, Franklin Guitar Works has been pretty good to me on multiple purchases at this point.

That Godin 5th Ave is on sale every week. I see it constantly. They must have a warehouse just packed full of them somewhere.

If I was stateside I'd snatch those Black top FTs from you.

I really love those pickups.

$13 OD Amazon Drive. Comes in a plain brown wrapper lol. It’s TubeScreamer like but it’s not Tubescreamer. It’s very good but I have the drive dimed where on my Behringer and JHS Screamer they are turned back a good bit. I’m very happy with it so far.

Donner Reverb $10 off. I got this because all I had down here was a Danelectro purple food reverb. It does some reverb but it’s not drippy reverb. I simply was not going to pay $160 for the same thing on my main board. There are a lot types and settings here and they go from mild to wild.

Both of these are for my board at my house. I have my big board in NOVA. It’s not oh he has a second house. I stay with my girl a lot and have gear at both places. I’m putting a cheap board together here so I don’t have to tote gear when I come home each week and go back up there.

They're actually Broadtrons that I pulled out. I am going to be putting them on Reverb once I can get my brain together for it. LOL
Well, I replaced the Broadtrons (which I have listed on Reverb linked in the Spam subform, now) with High Sensitive Filtertrons since I was looking for a more-pure Gretsch sound rather than a Gretsch/Gibson hybrid.

Bought this Epiphone ES339 for $73 yesterday. Guy selling obviously didn't know what he had, and the strings were the grimiest things I've ever seen. Gave it a nice setup, polished the frets, oiled the fretboard, and put on a set of 9-42's. Plays really well, and the pickups sound great. It's not a keeper, tho, that neck is just ridiculously fat, so I'm putting it up for sale again.
