The Great Deals Thread

The Gretsch deal is back at Adorama via Slickdeals. I bought one of the Midnight Sapphire 2655 models. It arrived yesterday. It's a damn nice guitar for $229. The sunburst version is $219. If you were even had an inkling of buying one of these, now is the time. Just do it.

They have a few other models on sale too. Some even have a poop knife. If you go further down on the second link, there are some Fender and Jackson deals.

There's a Korean Hamer double cut at a pawn shop in Springfield for $75 or best offer. I would check it out if I was closer. @Bones McHorror

Nevermind. Price in title went up to $350. Still says $75 or best offer in description.

I'd check it out if I was closer. MIK Hamers are usually quite nice.

Son who lives in Bloomington, a little over an hour away, has things shipped to our house because, porch pirates. UPS dropped it off yesterday. There were two holes poked in the box. High enough to miss the body and off to the side enough to miss the neck if the guitar is upright instead of upside down in the box. I text son and ask, can I open it?

The neck is very, very white. The neck feels like it has no finish, I mean that in a good way. I hear no difference when I split the neck pickup, like it's always split. Really liking the bridge pickup.

Nice job on the pickguard.

Got the ohm meter out. The neck pickup is always not split. 7.3something. Bridge is 7.6 something full, 3.6something split.

Very, very close to being tuned from yesterday, guess that means the tuners are good.

Intonation is perfect.

Just to make sure, you are pulling up on the volume pot to split the neck, yes? They're both push-pull instead of both splitting from the tone pot.

Well, I'll be. I actually tried the volume pot first, gave it a little tug, it didn't move so, I moved on to the tone pot. Just tried volume pot again. It does move, just takes a lot more effort to move, like, get a good grip on it to remove the knob. Not something you would do while playing. I have an extra around here somewhere but, it has a long shaft to go through the top of a Les Paul, will see if it will work.

How are you ling yours?

Just saw your NGD post, never mind.

Local GC is blowing these out at $799. I don't think it's company wide. A friend had to drive an hour to another location to get the deal.
He bought over the phone for $899 and when he drove over the price had dropped again.

I added this eBay listing from Music & Arts (a division of GC/MF) to my watch list and they gave me an offer WAY lower than anybody else. Not guaranteeing that it wasn't a mistake but maybe if you want EMGs for your Jazzmaster they'll give you the prewired pickguard set for $314.57, too. Probably applies to the other color combos, too.

Where does the battery go???

I added an EMG DG20 harness to my watchlist and they offered me ~$50 off.
