In my usual perusals of...stuff...while at AMS I noticed that some of the Quilter Aviators have been lowered in price; apparently that original line has been discontinued and replaced with the "Aviator Gold" line. So, for those who always wondered...you can now get the Aviator Open 12 for $649.95 (which is IIRC $250 lower than its original street price, or $50 lower than the Aviator 8 was), or the Twin Ten for $799.95:

Thru end of Aug 2015, Roland is doing a $50 rebate on their Cube 40GX, and 80GX. Net, net, this gets you a Cube 40GX for just under $200. If you ask MF or other for a small discount beyond this, say 8%, the deal is even better. I did get the Cube 40GX. I had two other Cubes in the last few years - a Cube 30X, and 40XL. The Cube is what it has always been - a light, small footprint SS amp that sounds big w/ good effects on board. After about a week with the 40GX, this is the best Cube they have done. Especially good with pick/strum dynamics. This 40GX is loud enough I think it can be used in practice, or small to medium sized venue.

You can get that $50 discount on many items by doing a Google search for the item name and clicking through to MF (site:musiciansfriend.com will save time). I think they do this to skirt manufacturer’s minimum advertised price requirements.
