Today I am off today so my son and I are headed to see the new Transformer's movie which starts in an hour. I will continue to work on my gear as well when I get back.

For Sat and Sun - exercise, yardwork and some gear workings.

The 4th - I have a blues jam party going on. Took Tuesday off to chill from Monday.

Took today off of work to work around the house for the picnic tomorrow. Picking up the kid from the airport tonight. Tomorrow picnic. I've got 6 racks of bbbbaby bbbback ribs going in the smoker around 4AM. And a shit pile of wings.
Sunday gig on a private island in the middle of the Allegheny river.
Monday, who knows.

Since I don't work Friday's in the summer, I am kicking it off a day early. Tomorrow, we are taking the kids to Disney. I think Epcot Center this time. One thing I will say for Disney, as much as a cluster F the park is, getting in and out of there is a breeze. Who ever the civil engineer was for the Florida parks should be tapped to design every city in the world. When we got to the parking lot, I saw one other car leaving until we were very close to the interstate.

False advertising! Still a Thursday cot dammit!

Why can't it be Friday?

I am going to the best Thai place in town tonight, that's something to look forward to I suppose. Might get into recording more tonight as well.

Last night I decided to let Ginsberg sleep in my room instead of in the crate. About 15 minutes late I had 50ish lbs. of dog on me. But at least he didn't whine or cry. :embarrassed:thu: I took him out first thing this morning and then figured he's been a good boy and I could trust him on his own... five piles of poop later I have reconsidered my decision.

Now mum and I are off to Costco and IKEA, then afterward I'm having some cable hooks in my studio. I have to get back to work on Gary's mixes this weekend and I need to get anything chewable up off the floor. Otherwise it should be pretty chill. On Sunday one of my students has to mow my lawn and weed the flower beds (he lost a practice bet ) so his dad and I are going to drink some beer and play some guitar while he does the yard work.

I'm hoping to go to the Colorado Irish Festival tonight (free admission early tonight), but it has been raining most afternoons this week - so maybe not (it is outdoors). We got about 1.5 inches of rain in about an hour yesterday evening.

Other than that I'm planning a long run Saturday morning (about 10 miles or so) and working on learning a few classic rock tunes this weekend fro P-Stock.

Up early this morning.
Drove my daughter to driving school in the New Yorker and then dropped the car off to get the rear leaf springs swapped.
Walked home. It's hot out already.

Maybe some yard work and a swim later on.

Will have high 20s and sunny days all weekend.
No plans for Saturday.
Sunday - christening a new deck at my niece's place. Maybe.

country song title request

lol.

I have to put two studios that I've just painted back together this afternoon to be taught in tomorrow. Other than that and a car show on Sunday morning I have no other real plans....

Karaoke tonight in a bar that a mass fight started erupting in just as I was loading out last time I hosted there. Tomorrow I'm back in the bar I posted the BBC article about the mass brawl that erupted there the night before I did a shift.

And if I manage to survive that I'm off to Belfast on Sunday for a few days with the family.

Tonight I'm making BBQ chicken pizza for dinner since the gf is on call for work. Then out to have some drinks with a friend I haven't seen in a while.

Tomorrow I'll work on recording some more, hopefully finish up the song I've been recording. Might watch The King's Speech or the Phils game that night.

Sunday I'll probably clean the house, work on recording some more, watch the Phils game and relax. Uneventful weekend for the most part.

I dunno... Among other things, I need to record my take of the solo on Highway Star...

I should too. I learned it a couple of weeks ago and then never got around to recording it,.

It took me a few days to get up to speed on it... The fast 16th note sections were easy, but the way he plays one note per string like an arpeggio in the other sections was tricky at first, the rolling from one string to the next with the same finger took some practice, and the string bending on the high E was something I have never done... It's really been a great exercise for me, and now I can hear the whole solo in my head... I need to bother to learn the rest of the song, which I once sort of did about 28 years ago... This is the first solo I've bothered to learn in about 20 years, and I was wondering if I could even pull it off... It's actually motivated me to learn a sets worth of cool covers...

The 16th note part was the bit I actually had to work up to speed. It's amazing what learning a batch of cover songs will do for your playing in general.

Well... This is a better Friday than last... My knee is healing up nicely... Weather is perfect... And, I finally broke out my amp and guitar since the move, and will actually play today... I also have some incomplete guitar projects to complete, so I want to work on those this weekend... I'll probably do some weed whacking, too...
