it's OK...trigger's a little tight, and jams unless you use CCX ammo, which is teflon coated...I only shoot it occasionally to keep it loose...it does what I want it to do, which is stay out of sight on my ankle...

for close-in self-defense it's fine...for a field gun I'd want a larger frame and longer barrel...

I really like the idea of have the first shot or two be a shotgun shell, and yea, strictly close range protection and scaring of the big critters...

I wasn't even thinking about hogs. Those mothers can be mean and they WILL come after you. I'd definitely want a 357 or 44.
I've not hunted them, but I know guys who do. They all carry 44s along with long rifles.
They'll take a big hit and keep going.

I have a good ole 10-22. One of my favorites of all time.

I'd kinda like to get a .22 rifle for target practice... We have a shooting canyon 3 miles from here...

My .243 is a Ruger mk2...I also have a ruger deerfield carbine in .44 mag and a mossberg 20 guage pump with shot and rifled barrels...I want to add a 30-06 or .270...

I have a 10-22 that's been converted to a tsrget gun with titanium action, kimber heavy barrel and thumbhole stock...I also have marlin .22 and .22magnum as well as a Ruger .22 magnum...22magnum is fun to shoot accurate and will dispatch a woodchuck easily...
