One cool deal is that I am back in Frazier Park, and there is a skate park 3 miles from me... I last skated the half pipe 4 years ago, and right before I moved, my truck was broken into, and my pads stolen... So, this week, I'm getting new gear... 47 years old going on 14... :)

My oldest damn near lost his arm in a skateboard crash. I'm not a fan.

Yea, from a parent's point of view, I can understand that... Plus, kids these days are pushing things to some really extreme limits... Even though I have always skated and dirt biked, I was always concerned about injuries, so I had limitations... I still got hurt a lot, but never enough to stop me...

Heck, he was just skating down the street. Hit a rock.
He said he tried to land on the grass, but planted his elbow on the curb. Split that little knuckle on the elbow into shards. 12 hours of surgery to fix it up. :embarrassed:

Both my sons unicycle. The older, non-guitar playing one is into them more. He has one with an extra big wheel for cruising, and one for "trials". Trials is a cross between what skateboarders do, and going off road with a truck. The frame is real beefy, and the wheel looks more like a motorcycle wheel than a bycycle wheel. He told me it's rated for a 12 foot drop. I said, OK but, I don't think your nuts are.

Nice, Mark, old guys can have fun and tear it up, too... I really love skating and surfing... Just ordered one of these:

Really cool simple but refined technology to get your skateboard to act like a surfboard... Check out the vids...

That is cool! I used to live on the coast and miss surfing. I still have my Perfection Surfboard from back in the day. This past summer I got to try wake surfing behind a boat. I was blown away that I could surf here in the mountains.

mornin' gents.

Zoe starts a new job right away, gonna play hell with my schedule.
awesome.
May can't come soon enough, when I can get my solo license.
I'm fuckered if I fail the road test though.

What kind of test?

I want to build a half pipe in the back yard this summer for the kids. Yeah... for the kids.

oh, and I was offered my manager's job today.
alas, I need more training before I could do such a thing.
so...give it a couple months.

Damn Marc, I haven't seen unicycles doing that... I have always really admired the motorcycle trials dudes... This is pretty cool... And crazy...

just finished 6 or seven bass tracks for thenew MUNG cd.

for some unknown fuckin' reason, guitar guy decided to use his new 7str on all the song BUT ONE.
on which he used a regular 6str, tuned to D...
so I went to play it "normally" (you know, the way I wrote the fuckin' thing), and all of a sudden "WTF is he doing?!?"
took me a sec to clue in.

I was under the impression, y'see, that he was using the new guitar on all the songs...

never seen it :embarrassed:

Very cool show. Totally worth checking out.

Thanks, but thank Bob for the crazy unicycles. And yes, trial riders are amazing.

Look forward to hearing this.

My kinda' skateboard! Vert/pool boards were all we used back in the day (early to mid-80's), but this one has a slightly longer wheelbase. We skated everything from pools, ramps, parks, garages, and urban.

One of my favorites, the Christian Hosoi Model:

The early days (mid to late 70's), the aluminum Banzai was the shit!

My first board after a piece of plywood and clay wheels, was a GT by Grentec...

Then a Logan Earth Ski...

Then a PPP (Park Pools and Pipe) was my first wide board... I can't find anything on these... It got ran over when I was showing off...
After that, I got an Alva...

I can't recall what the couple boards are I have now...
I do have one of these, which is a blast...
