OK, back to a recent one for my punk project... :)

Stupid Song

Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck me... If I'm stupid, too...

I'm a mindless idiot, starin at the TV...
Listen to the newsman tell me what to be..
Listen to the preacher tellin me i'll feel..
The power of the lord if I send some fuckin money...

I'm a fuckin moron, sittin in the class...
Listen to the teacher while I'm lookin at her ass..
Listen to her tell me that I got to get good grades...
But I got a bag of weed, so I got it fuckin made...

Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck me... If I'm stupid, too...

This song is fucking stupid, I'm sure you would agree...
My stupidity has got the best of me...
So I listen to voices in my fucking head...
And this is what they said...

Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck you... If you're stupid...
Fuck me... If I'm stupid, too...

Well, fuck me!

I believe I saw the Jerry Mac, one, but want to look again... The link, however, is not taking me to it...

Wow, you lost your pop 27 years ago... I'm quite sure of your age, but that's pretty young to lose your dad... As you know, mine passed last March at 86 years old... I'm really grateful he lived that long, as it was only in the last few years that we stopped butting heads... He was a real ball buster, but I sure do miss him... I ought to write a song about him...

Yes. I might get one eventually. It's not practical right now cause an acoustic, second electric, bedroom tube amp, etc comes before it. But eventually. :embarrassed:

(Yes, i've been playing the intro to voodoo child a lot...)

I was seventeen when dad died. A Junior in high skool. He was 60.
Went in one day to put in for his retirement, collapsed on the way to his truck and was gone three months later.
We never really butted heads much, but, working for the railroad he wasn't around much. Plus, he was 43 when I was born. Pretty sure he was tired of being a dad by the time I popped in.

Damn, Marc. That's hawt! With superheroes in there, it ought to have super tone!

EG

Thanks. The super heroes had meaning. Thor was supposed to give it teh brootalz and Iron Man was infusing the teh metalz.

Right on, Marc... Nice job...

Thanks.

I've been using a wah pedal for the first time ever today :embarrassed:

Welcome! Love leads with wah. It really makes the guitar talk.

Sorry man. I hate to hear about losing dads.

Learning is good, and it seems like the better I get, the more I feel like I know less, which drives me to try and learn more... I've basically worked very little this year, so I've taken advantage of it... When I get moved, I'll be back to the grind, and won't have quite as much time on my hands...

I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to even attempt to try and learn how to hybrid pick or anything else that sets me back to a complete beginner level, and focus on improving my strengths... So, what's happening is as I listen to all kinds of stuff I can't play, it still has an influence on how I can play, and I'm finding my own way to play hillbilly metal in the vain of the chicken pickers, but flat picking, and on a super strat into a high gain amp...

So, I think what I ultimately want out of lessons is more fine tuning of what I know... Kind of like a clinic... I'll never bother to learn how to read music, as I have zero desire to do so, and at 47 years old, I am not going to do stupid exercises for hours a day... In other words, I am exploring and learning music almost constantly, but when I pick up the guitar, I really don't practice... I just play... When I was in a band, I practiced... I doubt I'll ever be in a band again, so now I get to just play!

Makes sense to me.

I saw Junior Watson today, btw. He left his jacket at the studio

Weeeeeeeee!!!

Well, I'm pretty much able to run through the lead on Highway Star, and I haven't even been practicing, just messing with it once in a while... I'm kind of pleased... The string bends are much easier on my Ibby...

Speaking of the Ibby, the heater in the house has cause the fret board to shrink just enough for the fret ends to pop out... Easy fix... I use my fret leveler along the edges, then clean up each fret end with my nifty StewMac fret end file...
