I played the live album that Howie recommended yesterday, and my wife was getting a real kick out of the lyrics... Good stuff!
 
Ween kicks ass. I've seemed them live many times, and it's always a great show. Went through a MAJOR Ween phase (and that's me in a Ween T in the "current pic" thread, actually).

Is $850 too much for a 5 watt amp? Man, everything about these Swarts is perfect, but, holy crap, that's a lotta cash for a little amp.

Well, I dlove to have a bigger Swart :facepalm: but there's no way.

Ron the amp guy here in town sez he'll build me a kit pretty cheap. $500 for a store bought Blues Jr or $650 for a Deluxe Tweed?

Jello, I was just using the Blue Jr for reference. I don't want one. If I buy in that price range, I'll get the Ibanez.

But the Deluxe is what I'd really like. You'd think that with such a simple circuit, thered be inexpensive clones out there. If they are, they're well hidden.

Well, there is the big one down at Red Dirt Brothers. I'll go try it out. If I recall, they had a pretty stupid low price on it. $450 or something.

I've got the Blue 50-watt now, and I think Z still has the 20. Both are essentially the same, except that the Blue had a distortion boost and a master volume. Really great distorted tones, and very nice cleans. I'd buy another one if that made any sense at all to do so. I really regret selling my 20.
 
So, played a PRS SE 50. Pretty damn nice. Good clean tone but I would not call it especially Fender-y. OD channel sounds good, too. They'll probably sell some of these. But not to me.

Also tried the fender SuperSonic 22. I'm told it's basically a blackface deluxe with an OD channel added. I'd say that sounds about right. I like this amp, and they go a little cheaper than the DRRI.

To compare, I also plugged into the Blues Jr. :facepalm: I really don't like those very much.
