Well I hope you get that Gibby Ethan, it will make a great project... something you can really be proud of. :thu:

And Cheers Ken, I have always loved the look of a Tele with a Bigsby... almost orgasmic... Wait, what?

Hey jrockbridge... I would call you by your name, but I don't know it, sorry... although I have an overwhelming urge to call you Steve, so.. Hey Steve

Yeah, There were a lot of people on HC who couldn't take a joke too well, but then there were a load of people who knew there stuff about... everything. We will have to see what this place is like.

You can call me CJ, JR, Jrock, or asshole. I'll answer to anything that fits. Just don't call me a cork sniffer...that's insulting! I like gear period! :thu:

Cheers mate... so do I! It would be great to have a really respectable guitar in my ranks, it would be a fantastic project, plus I've wanted a fifties-style Goldtop LP ever since I played the reissue at Manson's a couple of months ago

I mean, I scored that '35-'40 acoustic down at my local tip. So never say never!

Oh god, just look at that thing. It's like sex with strings. If you're ever in Manson's... and you see that biatch hanging on the wall... pick her up and play her. One of the most gorgeous and elegant guitars I've ever laid my hands on.

Unfortuntly I live the other side of the country from you (near London), so going to Mansons is not on the agenda until I can drive or go for a holiday down there or something  But i sure will if I get the chance. I love that goldtop, everything except the funky tailpiece bridge thing... what the hell is that about? Ergh.

Hey Joe. This place seems pretty cool. Not a ton of traffic.
Man, I really liked the madhouse nature of HC but I'm afraid the arrogance of the administration over there really hacked a lot of people off.
I'm trying to stay there some but it irks the hell out of me the "fuck you" attitude the management has.

Anyway, I'm hanging here some but it loads terribly slowly on my phone, so that kinda keeps me away some.
I spend some time over at TGP as well.

Morning!

Today's mah Thursday, 'cause I gotz Friday off :thu:

The sun is shining, and it's gonna be 80 today disco-084

Every time I pick up the new SE, it's like a warm, fuzzy blanket on a cold day - OR. a nice cool breeze on a warm summer evening :rainfro::messedup:

The BH is already en route (I LOVE AMS)

For a few hours, anyway, it's pretty good to be me

I found a used PRS SE Tremonti on MF when they had their 15% off. It is being shipped.

Haha, no worries. But if you're ever down there, it's definitely worth paying a visit. Some of the coolest staff I've ever met :thu:

Ah, the tailpiece. I wasn't keen on it at first, but it quickly grew on me. I found it rather cumbersome to play on, but it's nothing I can't get used to... bear in mind that these were the first few years of the Les Paul, before the tune-o-matic and humbucker pickups came in. I really like it

Hey guys!

Yeah, I finally migrated, this place feels a lot better than that cold, heartless HC2.0... Haha, its not that bad, but this feels better.

Hows everyone doing?

Welcome Dougie. You will find this a smaller - more intimate community. 80% are from HCEG. Not sure why NB is not talking to me though. It's all good though.

Ah right! I bet I could get used tto playing on it, but I don't like the look of it one bit

Looks like a crowd here today.
What's up everybody?

EG

Hey EG. Not up to much here... lovely evening, so heading to a mates to jam soon... how about you?

Yup. I sure know Delevan. Janesville has become just another franchise town. Very different from when I grew up and the population was about 20,000. It has a very generic feel now. I like Delevan though. Madison is great as well. I got my BA in Madison.

'Afternoon People!

Madison is laid out so weird, due to the fact that so much of the city is jammed on an isthmus between 3 lakes (I lived there for 3 years in the mid 80s, while completing Engineering Degree #1 at the Univ. of Wisconsin). And, give or take a mile from the state capitol, and the university, everything's one-way streets, with a case of you can't get there from here. I used to live on West Washington Blvd., next to the parks on Monona Bay, and if I was going west on West Washington Blvd., unless I wanted to break the law, and ride my motorcycle on the sidewalk from the driveway ramp of an apartment building, 2 buildings east of my building, I literally had to go 7/10 mile out of my way, just to get across the street to my apartment building, due the lack of crossways through the island separating the east bound lanes from the west bound lanes. I drove to Madison 3 years ago, to pay my old alma mater a visit, and I went past the apartment building I'd lived in, and learned it was even worse nowadays, due to the fact that the small side street I used to use off of Park St., to loop back around to east bound West Washington Blv., and my apartment, is now blocked off for a bike path!. So, instead of 7/10 of a mile to get across the street from the west bound side of West Washington Blvd., it's now more like a mile!

Also, why are Madison cops such great traffic cops, but so crappy about dealing with crime? When I lived there, that city had the highest crime rate in the state (I knew high school classmate [who also attend the UW], who got robbed, while delivering pizzas in my apartment complex). from what I've been told, the crime rate isn't much better nowadays. But I will say this, there were a lot ocool things to do around that town! :thu:

left here or HC?

Here. It was over the thread Yngtchie Blacksteen started saying he was off to "boo Hammett." I think we all took YB as being tongue in cheek. Who buys a ticket to a concert to actually boo somebody? YB was just being flippant about the fact that he's not a Hammet fan, but he's obviously wanted to go to see Metallica reagrdless. I think Bryan misunderstood the tone of the thread which was light hearted silliness. Mark closed it. Pretty tame compared to any HC shitstorm.

I hope Bryan rethinks it and contributes here again. Seemed like a misunderstanding to me. Lot's of extra stress going on because of HC turmoil, maybe.

I'll believe it when I see it. Here at work (about 40 or 50 miles from you, in Racine, WI), it's only 59 outside. We're probably getting a breeze off of The Lake (Michigan that is).

Thanks Woody, as you know, you are one of the members who I enjoy seeing around the forum, so its good to see you here aswell :thu: The people here seem to be less 'up themself' than HC... which is nice

Hey EG... nice to see you here. Yeah, they didn't really care what the forumites had to say did they? I think everyone (especially us regulars) should get a say in what changes the forum goes through... kind of like being a share holder in a company. Never been to TGP myself, heard mixed things about that place... some people say that they are really up themselves over there, and others say its a lot friendlier than HC... whatever the case, i'm staying here.
