Achtung! Sooooooooooo any of you guys interested in the international sawker cup?

Poor old Geordie's array...
Or should we keep all football (the version where you actually use your feet to play) related chat the the Euro thread? :embarrassed:

The whole world loves it. More people will see it if you keep it out in the open and not in the Euro thread.

My client who is organising a surprise wedding (which suggests she's a bit of a mentalist anyway) clearly doesn't as she's organised a meeting with her, my good self and the rest of her suppliers tonight 2 hours before K.O.!!!

Should make it back in time but if any of these vendors even attempt to drag things on longer than they need to be there'll be words.

not interested at all

I sound really American but its just so slow and not the least bit exciting. one, maybe two scores a game and just a lot of running around for a few hours is not my idea of prime viewing excitement.

USA......USA......USA......

Actually I am pulling for Spain. The US is toast.....though a win against Ghana on Monday would be big. They knocked us out of the last two WC's. It would be nice to return the favor. Any loss in that group is probably instant elimination.

I'm all over it. I don't watch soccer all the time (we have an MLS team here, but I can only dedicate so much time to sports) but I do love watching the World Cup. :thu:

This weekend some tough choices are going to have to be made, because the US Open golf tournament is also going on.

I would argue that taking 4 hours to play a game with four 15 minute quarters or 3 hours to play one with three 15 minute quarters, or baseball (however the fuck long that goes on for  ) suggests US based sports are actually a shit load slower than football?

/facetiousness :embarrassed:

I have zero interest in most team sports, but the guys at work will have it on. Until then, though, they're watching golf. Talk about exciting

Two TVs it's just that simple

Maybe the cousins might be more interested if someone took the time to explain to them that in this case the title 'World Cup' means that teams from all over the world will be playing in it. On the other hand, maybe not.

Lessee: I played for 20 years, have been a referee for over 20, am currently referee Liaison for an MLS team... yeah -- you could say I'm interested. And let me answer the no-nothing Americans: The same folks who'll tell you that soccer is boring because there's not enough scoring in a one-hour-and-thirty minute match will watch four hours of no-hit baseball and be relating how thrilling it was at the water cooler the next day....

I appreciate the sport but have zero interest.

Once the US Open is done, I might watch a little if Costa Rica is still in it. If I don;t I won't have anything to talk about with the Tico's.
