not sure but this is probably the latest in the year I've ridden more than a few miles. would be a good time to take the train out or back and do some one-way tailwind centuries but covid is ragin' here.

Last Saturday, I went to get some groceries and stuff for the house, on the off chance we don't cancel our Thanksgiving get together. On the way there, I see this tree. It's on the righthand side, close to the road. Rest of the drive to Pontiac, I kept thinking about the tree. In person, it's monumental. In my pic I took I with my cell phone, not so much. Part of it is, in person, driving up to it, you see everything from afar and everything is dead. So dead. Then, you see this gorgeous maple, in all it's fall beauty. For some reason, it made me think of my wife, how she stands out among all others. Planed to put it on Facebook with that explanation but the pic I took on the way home was too far away. Tried zooming in but it just got digitized and worse.

They just repaved. Rt. 116 couple miles east of Saunemin.

You know if there's any mennonite/amish type things going on around this area? It won't zoom as much as I want but I'm talking roughly Fairbury to Forrest E-W and Wing to Strawn N-S.

It doesn't have the farmstead density of Amish communities like Arthur or what you see in IN and OH but it's higher than average. Did a bunch of google searches but couldn't find anything.

Not that I know of but, I can try to remember to ask next time I talk to one of the old coots.

No bike ride for me lately. Was riding this today. Another young local rider inspired me, so I am going to swap my 26 inch wheels back on my old mountain bike, and put some studded tires on there that I have and never mounted. It is nice to be outside on a bike. No bad weather. Just poorly chosen clothes.

Guessing this is an FDR-era building. Motto is wicked out of date. *spits*

There was a train stopped in the middle of town running at least two miles long, so east and west side were effectively cut off from each other for about half of town. Tons of poor bastids stopped at crossings.
