Did 58 miles, 3-4 shorter than my longest for the year. I had planned on trying for 70-75 but didn't get started early enough and I got too big a taste of stronger than forecasted headwinds out on teh barren prairie and shaved it a little.

had my first brake or die situation with this bike coming down to the river. plenty of momentum and a 90 degree curve at the bottom with more hill and the river below it. not an old hand with disc brakes and was not overly impressed with the stopping power. got pretty nervous for a second. i probably could have squeezed them harder though.
spot the hunter. i crossed the river on a trail prior to this and had a rare tree stand hunter sighting from above.

nearly got pancaked while climbing the other side of the valley. some steep, blind curves so i was glued to the far right side of the road and of course some asshat in an oncoming suv is cornering like they're in F1 and blows past me within a few feet
