Question: smurfco's advice: yes now you can ask me and i will give you my advice like Ask Amy

Alternate takes aside, I'm looking forward to Smurfco's advice on the tiger roach dog dilemma.

My wife wants to get a dog, and I would rather be worked over by the Pope's personal Torturemaster than have a dog stinking up the house and eating my guitars. Plus I'm confident she will get tired of taking care of the dog in about 15 minutes. How do I get her to come to her senses?
Why does your wife want the dog? What missing need or want would it fulfill for her? Does that outweigh your needs or wants about not having a smelly dog making ca-cas all over the place? I think this calls for a deep sit-down conversation where both of you express your true feelings on the matter and then come to an agreement based on mutual love and respect.

Sure thing, the more the merrier, there is never enough good advice to go around these days it seems.
I will take you up on that offer.
Sometimes a dose of bad advice can be just what the doctor ordered.
Yes, DdBob should confront that driver in the back alley and shine a bright light in his eye while he's driving. That shadey stranger will probably drive over Dd's leg.
Lesson learned!

Dear Smurfco or Tig

There was a suggestion this morning in a thread about doiung a certain maneuver in order to brighten ones day. Unfortunately an elderly member tried this maneuver already and had drastic results ultimately ending up in the hospital.
My question to you is since I am no "spring chicken" myself would you suggest I try the manuever knowing what could happen or should I forgo the manuever and wallow in unhappiness.

Thanks in advance

If performed cautiously the maneuver has tremendous benefits for your well-being happiness and overall esprit de corps. I must not have described it correctly but I will make an instructional video later

I'm ignorant of aforementioned maneuvers.
Was Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark involved?
