RIP Taylor Hawkins

Has anyone mentioned that The Rolling Stones have had Steve Jordan in the band since last year?

Charlie Watt died in August last year and they already replaced him by September.

Watts had announced to the band that he’d had enough with touring, and so they had a tour drummer lined up for the tour months before he died.

I was just thinking of how they could go on for at least one last tour if Dave thinks Taylor is too much of a loss to truly go on as a band without him. Do a tour in tribute to Taylor with big name drummers for certain legs of the tour. Big names that also want to pay tribute for a few shows. It would be a big draw for Taylor fans to see who is sitting in, they don't have to look like they're in a hurry to get on with it by hiring some Schmoe we hardly know and it probably would have been an honor for Taylor if he had been injured to have some of these guys stand in for him. Like Travis Barker, Tommy Lee, Alex VH, hell WVH, Matt Cameron, Mike Portney etc...

The band and crew get a big last paycheck and pay tribute, then bow out.

Just an idea. Maybe I'll call Dave...

We were at the fourth show after he died.... Oct 6th 2021. Jordan was great, as well as a very touching tribute to Charlie to open the show.

I don't think I can get a video to load on Wein, but I can grab some screen shots.

IIRC, Steve Jordan was the Stones' "writing drummer" for the past few years, playing with Mick and Keith while they worked up material for upcoming albums. He's also been in Keith's side band(s) for a long time, so he's got a long history with the band.
