Jebus I'm at the stage that I REALLLLLLY hope I get this job next week.
Amongst other things I'm dealing with needlessly, teaching wise we've got a dude who isn't actually fully qualified or registered to teach yet I'm stuck on a small team with.
He's been here a year or so now banking hours towards his registration but really not "getting" what we're about or how we operate (fwiw, my buddies in the Social Subjects department next door said he was an absolute nightmare when they tried to do him a solid and get some History teaching hours under his belt so it's definitely not an us issue).
Big pow wow yesterday for his benefit with the whole team.
- we should be doing this, we need to prepare that, good practice looks like x, y and z, the experts say and so on.
He comes to me today about something or other and starts talking about the meeting and going way off kilter with his ideas.
I reign him in and tell him the whole point of the meeting was to drive home that we need to be consistent as a team and consistent as to how we communicate and deliver to the kids.
His words, verbatim, after sitting with 50+ years of experience working with our kind of kids in that room yesterday......
"Actually I disagree, these kids thrive on novelty, not routine."
No, they're profoundly autistic, routine is literally one of the best things to keep them calm and safe.
They're not thriving in any way shape or form with you at this stage pal, you should maybe listen to the adults that actually know what they're talking about.
Crazy, the guy is mega intelligent (Phd) but has not got a clue.
Bunch of other stuff but this was just
