So that whole adulting thing kinda spiraled out of control :embarrassed:

From having a casual conversation with the bank about what we can get loan-wise, we got our offer on a place accepted today :embarrassed:

So in a month and a half I'll live about 600 meters from where I live now :embarrassed:

at least the home move will be easy

We can literally see the new place from our front door :embarrassed: We're considering just moving our kitchen stuff as soon as we get the keys so we can start properly cleaning the kitchen area our current place and just start eating at the new place as we both pass it on our way home.

Only thing is a 2 story height difference between the streets (Helsinki is weird like that).

One of my earliest memories is of my dad and his friend trying to avoid traffic whilst flitting all of our stuff (couch included) across the scheme using a couple of shopping trolleys :bigg:

Good luck with the move dude, getting the kitchen up and running first os a great plan.

Woke up with a pulled muscle in my shoulder, the only thing I can think is it was from throwing Lola's frisbee last night. I'm 36 :annoyed:

Speaking of the dog. I took her for a check up at the vet yesterday because she's been growing when she lies down and Alsatians are predisposed to some horrible hip problems.

Nope she's absolutely fine according to the vet, she's probably just sighing because she's getting nice and comfortable.

I could have bought a keg of lager for my machine for the price of that consultation!

I managed to get £300 back for scrappage for my car. I liked that car a lot, an ex taxi (Seat Toledo) with all modern luxury items. But it had run its course, 290,000 miles isn't bad.

Going back to an smaller, older car, which is all I can afford at the moment, fills me with dread

That's a decent mileage! Hope you can find a bargain banger in decent nick. If you were down this end of the country I'd pass on my mechanic's details as we've had quite a few decent cheapies from him over the years.

Main things I'd look for in that price range, is when was the cam belt last done.

That was the cause 0f my car's demise. Hadn't been changed for a long time.

Holy crap. 290,000 miles is a good innings all right. Doesn't make it any better for you right now of course.

Yay for the weekend, anyone got much planned? :embarrassed:

working tomorrow and Sunday. Since I am temporarily without car I need to leave at 6.15 tomorrow morning to get the bus

Not sure how I will get to work on Sunday, as there are not buses that early on Sunday

Focus on the positives, they'll be able to resume the witch burnings and turnip growing contests in the Kingdom before you know it.

Work. Decided to take yesterday off, but since I have quite some deadlines I've gotta make up for it today. Probably gonna keep it up a few hours and then get a beer or two at the brewery upstairs :embarrassed:

I remember the days when you could go to pubs

Tbf I've got so used to my perfect draft I can't see myself going back to them much when they reopen.

I had a little bit of work to do on these stairs but I stupidly did a quick search and found a couple of job openings so I'll be spending the day doing them too.

Wrapped up all my tasks yesterday, auto-reply is on and I've got a week off. Might do some takes and a bit of mixing today.

My wife is working today and tomorrow morning but then she's off duty for week too and we'll paint a wall in the sitting room.

:embarrassed:

Bars are still open (with restricted opening hours) here, but I've only been three times in over half a year or so.

Ugh, instead of being at work, I am in bed, shivering. I don’t know which would be better
