Job hinting sucks. This time of year particularly sucked as a supply teacher knowing you were fucked after Easter when the kids went on study leave.

On a similar note, a temp promotion has come up in my work. The new boss made it blunt that it would be really in my interests to go for it.

OK I think, sweet deal, no one else is going to apply and I get it (and the salary increase) by proxy which is what happened to the last one who was tapped up for the role.

I fire off my e-mail of interest this morning and she responds:

Great, all applicants will be interviewed in May :messedup:
 
Not sure. The last time it came up the old boss said ifim the only one that goes for it, I get it otherwise its 'informal' interviews which turned out to be pretty bloody formal and I made an arse of it :grin:
 
Having a nice day off today. Recording guitars for the last 2 hours, I don't think I ever been this inspired and at the same time...sore :grin:

The weekend is going to be hard going, having my daughter for a sleepover tonight, taking her swimming tomorrow morning, then from 4pm to 12 working...

Well as you know I can understand Dutch whilst drunk so as a native Dutch speaker I expect you be fluent in ned after a few REFRESHING LAGER BEERS :embarrassed:
 
Always happens, for a long time little work, now I get asked for translation work more than I can take on
 
Speaking of translations - the arseholes in next room of the hotel who seem incapable of talking at a normal volume certainly picked up the Glaswegian nuances of me battering on the adjoining door and shouting:

"IT'S FUCKING HALF TWO IN THE MORNING, WRAP IT IN OR I'M COMING THROUGH HERE TO SHUT YOU UP YA PRICKS" :embarrassed:

Yay the arseholes next door leave today.

They've spent the whole morning loudly and quite passionately arguing about who is a better ride - Africans (quite a wide net that one imo) or Jamaican men :facepalm:

The month(s) from hell is over :grin:

Spent the entirety of late Februari/March busting my ass getting a project with a stupid short deadline done. 12 hour working days, didn't eat at home for 2 weeks etc. Great fun.

Anyway, the project got done, turned out great, spent some time in the lobby of the biggest museum in Finland and is now sitting in the lobby of the company that pays for the whole shebang. Good for the wallet, good for the cv, but dayummmmmm bad for my mental health.

Time for REFRESHING LAGER BEERS.

Also, had a great performance in the meantime, met some cool people at the festival we were playing and got several more gigs booked, so that's nice.

How are all you tossers?

Heh, the sun’s out but it’s only 8 Celsius. Doesn’t stop the local jakeys to walk about with their tops off. Gotta love Scotland :lol:
