Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Chilled weekend, went for a few pints on friday night, worked saturday and slept away half of my sunday. It were great!

Back to the daily grind

Back from Murmansk, had a great trip and our gig went really well. Never had such an insane reaction from the crowd. First time random people just came over to hug us and wanted to take pictures with us after the gig.

Now I need some time to get all the vodka and whatever the fuck else I drank out of my system and catch up on some sleep.

Couldn't get a decent refreshing lager beer for trying in Barcelona so drank gallons of refreshing sangria and cava :embarrassed:

Getting a lift to work tomorrow and it's a stupid seminar inservice where we won't actually do much so I'm heading out for some refreshing lager beers as soon as I post......

How the hell did you get a gig in Murmansk?

They asked us

Basically, some people from the organisation of the festival saw my GF, who I perform with, do a one person version of our stuff in a sound symposium in Lofoten, they asked us, some things went through a Finnish art organisation, next thing we know, we're traveling to Murmansk by bus with a bunch of Finnish people

Was pretty amazing, and the festival is way cooler than anything you'd expect in a place on the edge of the world like Murmansk.

I see there were a few Dutch people there.

Yeah, was fun meeting them. I was pretty glad to be part of the Finnish delegation though, a lot less high and mighty attitude around with the people we were with. One of the guys with us even involved their assigned volunteer in their performance.

Ugh, having spent the afternoon with my daughter who is not well, i came home feeling ill as well. Had planned to get lots of stuff done, ended up going to my bed at 5pm

Been cited for jury duty today.

Would it be uncouth to go for a refreshing lager beer in the Scotia for lunch if I'm picked  :embarrassed:

my wife and I are spending a few days in Venice Italy this fall before we take a cruise of Greece.

Venice is always lovely, and for my money the Italy one is the pick of the bunch. To my irritation I have never been to Greece, which I hear is the time, is the place, is the motion.

Bring us back photos, in any case!

Venice is awesome.

I once ended up there accidentally while backpacking in Germany - we were headed for Vienna but the train was full, the obvious thing to do, given we were wrecked, was to get the ticket lady to send us "somewhere else beginning with V"

240 euros and a horrible night train coming off the drink later and we had a great couple of days drinking cheap wine and eating pizza.

Another :thu: for Venice. Really nice and interesting city. Prepare to get lost, a lot :)

You can also jump on the train to Florence for a day trip if you fancy it. It's only about 90 minutes away and costs about 20 euros.

Venice is alright, yeah. Not that big on Italy to begin with, and I prefer Milano as a city, but it's definitely one of those places that deserves to be on all the must-see lists it's on.

This holiday talk reminds me I need to book tickets to and from Holland in July when the whole family is going to Turkey for a week.

Wonder if I should wait util this whole Brexshite is over?

Anyway, just had another job interview in Edinburgh. I think I did really well, but the interviewers’ faces did not look impressed. Maybe that is a good thing?

Will hear before the end of the week

Mojo sent for the interview Wok. What's the job?

That's day 2 I've been sent home from Jury Duty with nothing happening. I've to go back in again tomorrow for 10.15 :embarrassed:

Ironically enough it’s mainly visa and passport applications
