Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

Morning all

Bass guitar ordered! It only cost me 99 euro as its from 'Jack and Danny' who couldn't make cheaper guitars if they tried. Still, gets good reviews and I can't justify paying a few hundred when I can't even play a bass, yet.

Just ordered it so hopefully it'll arrive on Saturday but whatever, something small to look forward to.

Features:
  • solid Alder Body
  • bolt-On Maple Neck
  • Rosewood Fingerboard
  • Scale Length: 33 7/8"
  • 21 Frets
  • Vintage Style Bridge
  • Nickel Hardware
  • 1-Ply White Pickguard
  • 2 x Volume, 1 x Tone Controls
  • Finish: 3 Tone Sunburst

Looking at the specs, that's not at all bad for 99 euros. If you take to bass playing, and the body and neck are sound, it looks as though it would be easy to upgrade the pickups and hardware if you felt the need in the future.

Cheers Gorgon! I thought it sounded ok. For such a low price at least.

It'll let me know if I'm as crap at bass as I am guitar or if, as I suspect, I'm the new Lemmy/John Deacon/That bloke from Level 42 all rolled into one.

Ha! Ill be in my cellar along with a few other guitars and my drum kit trying to follow tabs on a 7' tablet and no doubt getting pissed off. It'll be the bass guitars fault, not mine. The cellar also houses my limited Star Wars stuff collection. I know! What a geek .

You may be waiting a while for any video. Might do though :) :thu:

Nice! Welcome to the bottom end :)

Do you have Rocksmith? I think it's even more suited to the bass than the guitar. It is a rhythm game after all!

Morning All

Ive had a nosy around about Rocksmith and Ill buy it on Steam as soon as the bass arrives, its only about 20 quid so no problems there.

Looks like it could be a laugh.

Remember you'll need a special cable as well. The official one is about 20 quid though I've heard you can get unofficial ones that work for a couple of quid.

Question for any Brits out there, What's the difference between a Quid, a pound and a pound sterling?

Financially, nothing, they're all the same just different slang/proper terms.

Similar to a dollar and a buck being the same thing in the USA.

Afternoon chaps. I've been up in the grim North for the weekend.

Very nice and I'm quite glad we were in a sleepy village with not much to do late on. Can't handle mad weekends anymore :(

Afternoon all.

I had the kids (except for the one who can't quite manage a full day without calling someone, usually me, a cunt :embarrassed: ) playing Goldeneye at the end of the day after digging out my old N64. Was quite funny, they were giving it - wtf is this controller all about? Look at those rubbish graphics, YOU CAN'T JUMP????? and yet 5 - 10 minutes into it and they were engrossed. Had to pry the controllers out of their hands when it was time to head home

On a slightly less joyful note I got a letter from the taxman saying I owe him a bawhair under a grand for the DJ business' taxes last year :(

Meh I've got the dough there and it means I've turned a nice little profit with the DJing. I know a lot of guys who buy as much as they can come April to avoid a big tax bill so they're essentially working all year to be left with nothing but a house full of gear they don't use

Yeah you must've made quite a lot. Did you anticipate on it? I usually keep the tax percentage on the side even though I've never made the threshold to pay it at the end of the year, just to be on the safe side. It's always nicer to have some extra cash than being short at the end of the year.
