Return to the Planet of the "Hey Euro's its that time again" Thread.

My work night out is tomorrow at a fancy hotel in town I'm usually able to wangle free bevvy in because I DJ there a lot (and I'm not a complete cunt to the bar staff :embarrassed: )

Sadly I've just started this job so it was booked months ago and I'm gigging at a much shitter city centre venue anyway.

I'm off to see Madness tonight which will be awesome albeit with a slightly more sedate atmos thanks to these new drink driving limits. I tell you, what kind of world do we live in when you can't get ripped off your tits on cider at a Madness gig and then drive to your work the next morning with double vision?????

On the upside, tomorrow is the days the school finish up. Gigs right through to Sunday meaning I'm goign to have my own little day out on Monday where I can mince about town getting drunk by myself :grin:

My last gig of the year tonight (which I'm posting fromt hanks to some lovely free venue internets :thu: ) and it has the hallmarks of being a stinker which is a shame given I've had a great year on the the DJing front:

- Members of the local gym (how many folk from your gym do you know and socialise with????)
- Sunday
- Most folk won't be finished up for Christmas yet i.e. work tomorrow
- New drink drive laws = even folk who aren't working will need to watch the booze intake if theyve got anything to do tomorrow.

So yeah the 1am finish is looking unlikely.

As a random aside:

Imagine the scenario (and this wasn't me but another DJ I know and he did do it :facepalm:

- You're at a Christmas party at a 5 star hotel in the middle of Edinburgh with your work colleagues enjoying a fine meal, merriment and dare we say the odd sherry.

He's gone on a big rant in a facebook DJ group about it and is really annoyed that someone complained.

I pointed out that it was very probably really offensive to hear it for a large portion of the audience.

His response: you play Fairytale f New York and that's got tonnes of swearing in it.

Yes Davey, clearly adults hearing swearing in a song and paedophilia are a similar vein of offensive :facepalm: and this is one of the "better" DJs out there.

I very much ticked that box yesterday.

Nipped into town for some shopping - should have been an hour tops including time for some pintage.

Got 1 present then nipped into a pub for a quick one, 2 minutes later a mate from my local walked in after sending his missus to the shops for him so we had a drink together,

Then another guy from the local wandered in after doing the same.

Another few folk + their missus' wandered in and there ended up a squad of us all in a round. 3 hours later I was on my merry way to try and buy some stuff whilst half cut. I managed a few more shops then decided to head back to base camp - guess who was all sitting in the local even worse than when I'd left them :grin: :facepalm:

I'm meant to pick up a new DJ controller from a guy I know tonight but I'd much rather get to Tesco, clean the house then go and get scum bag filthy with it again :grin:
 
O hai guys :Wave: Doing my bi-yearly checkin with you cunts, I really need to visit here more often :embarrassed: Had my first black tie event last night and I've never felt so out of place. Getting absolutely smashed with my work mates was awesome though, I don't even remember getting back to my hotel room, just rudely awoken by housekeeping at 8am still in my suit with a weapons grade hangover :cry:
