Kick Henry Jackassowski
I've been on such a Jem kick as of late... I got 2 within the past few weeks and I dig them. I found myself selling two fantastic guitars(including a stoptail Peavey Wolfgang in purple)... as I was looking at my guitar wall last night, I thought to myself, "Self, which of these would you never sell?".... Here's what I'm thinking:

PRS CU22 - this goes without saying... the guitar that my amazing wife bought me for our wedding. I love it... perfect balance, looks and tone...

EB MM Y2D - next to the PRS, one of the most amazing playing and sounding guitars that I have ever played. It sounds "organic"... if that makes any sense. The neck pickup has liquid lead perfection and the neck is the most comfortable in my little collection:

Ibanez Jem777DY - the guitar that took me 25 years to get!!! I'm getting Steve Vai to sign her next Saturday... love it!!!!!

I have a Fender American Lonestar Strat and Gibson LP Standard... they don't get much playing time, but I'm thinking that everyone needs some kind of LP and/or Strat in their collections right?

So what guitar(s) do you have would you never sell? Post pics!!!!

Probably this one, an '84 MIJ 68 Reissue. The nicest neck of any guitar I've ever owned and the best sounding.

And a '75 D-18. Both of these guitars I will save for my five year old daughter.

This warmoth trash-o-caster. Found the body in the garbage in NYC, bought the warmoth neck and electronics. Beat to piss, but sounds amazing and plays like a dream.

My Steinberger GL2TA. Too hard to replace, and an amazing guitar.

My 50's vintage player strat. I love everything about this guitar.

My LP standard 2008.5 series. An amazing guitar in every way. I might request they put this one in the coffin with me when I go.

DSC02935.jpg

My Steinberger GS7TA Custom. Impossible to replace, and a great guitar.

DSC02895.jpg

This 90's strat plus deluxe was my main gig guitar for a long time. Lots of memories and it is a player.

DSC02882.jpg

This old ibanez Jem 7RB. Love it to death. Amazing whammy licks just pop off of this one. It is a shredder's dream.

DSC02889.jpg

This old black ibanez roadster. Lovely guitar. Raw maple neck, original edge tremolo, X2N bridge pickup. Coil splits, series/parallel, and phase wiring mods. It screams. Played this one for many years and it was my first 'nice' electric guitar.

Finally, my old Gibson blues hawk. So many tones in this guitar, and it is a good player. The guitar has a factory varitone dial (lots of different cap values set to filter different frequencies) that makes it crazy versatile. It also has Gibson's blues 90 pickups and a dummy coil in the rear of the guitar that makes them dead silent.

I have to take better pics of these things. I took these with my wife's old Sony camera that was crapping out. Everything is a bit blurry. I need to get out my DSLR and take some nice pics someday. I think the couple that were taken with the nice camera are obvious in this group.

About half of what I own couldn't be sold I think.

Both Suhrs
My Tokai strat
Both Les Pauls

The Tokai was my first real guitar and has a little bit of history attached to it
The Suhr classic is my main working guitar and the Tele is probably the "best" guitar I own although it doesn't get much playing time.
The 2004 STandard my wife helped pick out
the 1979 The Paul has a lot of history with me as well.

The other instruments I own could be voted off the island if I was a step away from living in my car.

The Reeves is my favorite guitar and probable my best playing and best sounding guitar, its signed by Reeves as well.

The Sixgun covers Strat and Tele territory very well. It is also the first in special run of 20 for 2010
IM000457.jpg
I Love the Hinson, its an awesome sounding guitar and I really enjoy playing it. It is also the first production Hinson, and it is signed by The Kang.
IMAG0015.jpg
I really love the Manta Ray 390 too. I plays and sounds awesome, and its number 10 of 10 of special edition for 2011.

Never is a mighty strong word.

I've already sold a few that I never should have.

I'll never sell my tricone. I've waited since I was 15 to get that guitar. I'll never sell my ibanez les paul. Not a great guitar but I inherited it from my late older brother. Too much sentimental value.

Never say never.....that should especially apply to the OP

I agree. Just about anything is for sale if the price is right.

But, since this one has very little monetary value and a great deal of personal value, it's safe to say this one won't leave me.

This is my infamous strat, Jasmine. I know, i never shut up about her. She was my first electric, originally a Candy Apple Red Affinity Strat. Since then she's been upgrade with four major revisions. I named the revisions like Deep Purple fans name the Lineups.
Through the ages:

Mk I

431293_10151057981078388_987578713_n.jpg

Pristine, New, Untouched. Standard ceramic pickups for a Squier, really unremarkable at this point. That would change with...

Mk II
644365_10151057981133388_5859705_n.jpg

Jasmine's longest and most-upgraded iteration. During this one, she had 2 sets of pickups, a new pickguard, new hardware, new trem block, and a new wiring harness.
Pots become 250K instead of 500K. "Jasmine" emblazoned on the body. Floyd Rose (Actually Ibanez) string retainer added. Pickups changed to GFS Greybottom Overwound 70s.

Mk III
267163_10151057981228388_147618284_o.jpg

The first cosmetic redo of jasmine in around 6 or 7 years. Trim changed from black on chrome to chrome on black, headstock is painted CAR to match the body. Name legend moved to headstock from body. Pickups swapped to BG V60s in the neck and middle and Rose Pickups Belle in the bridge. Pots become 1M for a brighter cutting tone.

Mk IV

551906_10151057980993388_963344479_n.jpg

Jasmine's latest iteration. Hand-stained alder body from Allparts, courtesy of PunkKitty, Brake-bend steel trem plate and saddles. Wiring of the pickup selector changed to take advantage of a winding discrepancy between the two brands of pickups, allowing for a hum-free Neck/Bridge combination in position 2. Headstock is sanded down and lightly stained to match body.

So yeah, I've put such an assload of work into her that I'll never sell her. That and no one would want her.

I've gotten so lucky in my purchasing of cheap assed guitars that I now have the issue that none of them would bring in what they're worth in terms of quality of sound.

I mean who would believe that my SX strat has a fully tight flamed maple neck and is a beautifully resonant guitar? And it's worth more to me than the 50 bucks I "might" get from the sale. The Acoustic has been my buddy through almost all of my military time and has followed me everywhere. And again, I bought it damaged and no one could give me what it's worth to me even if you would take away the sentimental worth.

So all but the gray bass I would never sell. The bass is a good sounding and playing instrument as well. I just know I could get better somewhere, the guitars consistently leave me unimpressed with other guitars in my price class.

Edit: I should mention that my SX in question is an old "Naughty headstock" version that I bought in Europe from some other source than that other music store, and has nothing to do with "the store that should not be named". :embarrassed:

Though I never say never, I have no plans to sell any of these, and it would have to be a very good reason to require me to sell any. The one possibility would be if I were to sell the tele to help me get either a Jazzmaster or a Rev. Double Agent III. But I would probably try to hold on to it. It is too nice a guitar for what it cost to let go.

It looks like you have most of your bases covered. What kind of amp is that? It looks like a Fender acoustic amp.

ok...I have time to find the pics:
