As a kid I thought that since it didn't have tuners, it could never go out of tune.

Humbucker in the middle and then a slanted single coil in the neck? Why the slant? And why that direction? You would think that the 6th string would be closer to the bridge if you were trying to get some sort of EQ advantage.

the bass side of the pickup is where its supposed to be. its then slanted to get a little more treble on the higher strings as you go up the neck. reverse thinking of a strat bridge pup, which was slanted forward.

the middle bucker is really there for the 4 position, combining both the middle and bridge. its not ever going to be a neck/bridge combo, but it will be thicker than either pup on its own.
 
I've always loved the 70's BC Rich Mockingbirds. I have lots of guitars, including a (different) BC Rich -- but never got one of those.
 
Ok...this is hard for me to admit...but I feel safe around you guys.

I used to think these were pretty cool. I present to you, the Fender Splatocaster. :facepalm:
