Now and then I tend to stay on my phone too long and zone out. When I do look up and over I get the WTF look. This was last night. It was walk and then snack time
before bed. 9 pm like clockwork. When it’s just me here the chair and couch get sheets draped over them because Rocky is forever shedding. Oh and that’s his blanket on the chair back. He pulls it down and nests in it when he feels like it.

Daisy stopped eating for days. i took her to the vet. She has pneumonia. She ended up in an animal hospital for days. She was examined by a vet cardiologist. Turns out she has Pulmonary Hypertension.

She’s home now. I have 8 different medications to give her at various times. She’ll have to be on certain medications for the rest of her life.

Daisy is recovering well. She will not eat food out of her bowl. Yet, for some reason, she will eat wet food off my finger if I hand feed her.

Giving her 8 medications at 6am,10am, 2pm and 10pm is a bit of a hassle. Daisy weighs less than 10lbs, so I have to cut pills and coat them with a small amount of cheese flavored Pill Pocket puddy. Even with the cheese puddy, she always tries to spit it out. I’ve gotten pretty good at rubbing her throat and nose to get her to swallow the medications. But, she stills manages to spit some of them out multiple times before I finally get her to swallow them down. It becomes tedious when I have 8 pill fragments for her to swallow at certain times of the day.

I imagine the antibiotics are doing a number on her stomach and digestion. Yet, her behavior is back to her old self. I can’t wait until she’s done with most of the meds. Then it will be just 2 different meds for life.

She likes popping her head in but today Lola decided to up the ante and lie next to me while I was on the loo earlier.

Well, the cancer moved much faster than expected. Yesterday afternoon my girl was doing pretty well for a disabled 16 year old dog. Later that night her back legs weren’t working much. This morning she couldn’t move. I took her to the vet this morning to end it and she was dead before they had even had a chance to give her the drugs. Fortunately my son’s School of Rock end of season show was a little later in the morning. Listening to a bunch of teenagers cover Misfits, Dead Kennedys, and Dropkick Murphys is a great way to grieve.

Sorry for your loss jp_nyc

Lola took a funny turn in daycare today. Lost her balance and fell then went rigid for a few seconds. She's home, had food and water but seems pretty tired and subdued.

Got an online vet call in the next half hour.
