Pets of Wein

This stray little girl has been hanging around outside my place for the last couple of weeks; I've posted on several local lost pets sites, etc and haven't gotten any responses. She's verrrrry timid around people (multiple neighbors have tried and failed to tempt her inside with food) but she seems to have fallen head over heels for Dart, waiting outside for us to come out for a walk and then following him around like velcro while we're outside.

This morning she followed Dart straight into the house after our walk, so I got a slip lead on her and took her to the vet for some vaccinations/deworming/etc (she's crawling with fleas and other critters on the outside, presumably crawling with them on the inside as well.). I'll keep trying to find her people, but I'm suspecting she was dumped (this particular couple blocks of the small town I live in seems to have a reputation as the place to dump unwanted animals, there are constantly strays, mostly cats, but also some dogs). Soooo, if no one shows up for her, I may end up getting a second dog since she gets along with Dart so well, which is fairly rare for him. Name suggestions? she went in to the vet as "Jane Doe", but I'm not sure I like Jane as a name for her.

Looking at her, name wise my brain is saying Lucky for old school dog name, Sophie for people name.

I've been leaning towards a people name - Sophie is a good one!

Enjoying life on the balcony. Monty is nearly a year old now, and he's turning out to be a very good dog. He likes hanging out, going somewhere, playing with his stuff, he hates being left alone at home, and he's just extremely social and observing.

Good on you for taking her in. Dart will be happy with a compatible companion.
We have a tortie cat named "Sophie". I'll list the other female names of our dogs and kittehs for consideration:
Ruby
Sasha (cat)
Luna
Molly
Lulu

We've got a foster dog arriving from Texas this upcoming week. Hopefully he'll get adopted pretty quick.

My wife has been working w/ a local rescue and it turns out that foster homes are the key shortage that limits the number of rescues they can bring in. More fosters = more rescues = more adoptions.

Well, I have the weirdest dog ever. He won't eat any kind of lunch meat. Spits it out. Barely eats american cheese (for pills since he hates lunch meat). I make his food for him. He'll only eat beef. No chicken, no pork, no turkey, no organs. And sweet potatoes. He loves those. Freakin weirdo. I love him.

This group of dogs were all named for potato foods....meet Pomme Frites, or as were calling him, Fritz!

If happen to know anyone in the PDX metro looking for a dog he's got a great demeanor and gets along great with other dogs.

This is an honorary entry…

This beautiful little boy that I've been calling "Grey", has been greeting our boys at the patio door glass over the past couple months. He originally had a collar so we thought he was a neighborhood kitty… but my wife noticed the collar was gone and he had been sleeping under one of our pine trees.

I saw him chillin’ in the middle of our yard this past weekend and thought I’d see how friendly or approachable he was. He had a chipmunk in his front paws that was looking around like “What the hell? This isn’t the Rescue Rangers..” and then Grey decided it was lunch time. :embarrassed:

A few days later I coaxed him over with some treats, gave him some head scritches and pets. Then got him in a carrier and set him up in our shop bathroom until I could have him checked at the vet.

Scanned but no chip, so I paid for a health exam, feline respiratory vaccine, rabies shot, and a flea treatment. This weekend my friend said he would adopt him to live at his farm.

Kiira and her "boyfriend" have now also figured out chilling together is fun as well. Luckily Karpo's owners are cool people as well, so we now have dogdates at least once a week :embarrassed: She still likes to play with other dogs but Karpo is the absolute business. A mere mention of his name causes zoomies :bigg:

When I sent this picture to them as a joke, the reply was "Pretty sure that's his actual thought process" :embarrassed:
