I have 2000 "Facebook friends". For me there is a bit of using Facebook what it's intended for and then there is the marketing component. At a certain point I quit defriending whack jobs because I want to know what EVERYONE is saying and disgusting and terrifying as it might be. Those screenshots are from our local "crime and emergency" FB group though. I'm not friends with any of those motherfuckers.

Watching the news, Trumps 90 day travel ban was beaten again because the judge said "it drips with religious intolerance". IMO, the bombings in France and Manchester drips with religious intolerance. I'd like to plug the fucking leak before more of it spills over.
You quite literally have a greater chance of being killed by furniture than you do a terrorist. While terrorism is obviously a problem that needs attention, it is not of a magnitude that we need to abandon the principles that this country was founded on.

Also, apprehending and prosecuting the people that commit heinous acts of violence is desirable and what the government should do. Prosecuting or banning a religious belief system, or people that subscribe to a belief system, without evidence of further illegal acts, is not allowed.

I’ve read that many Montanans had already voted via mail, so the assault had little impact on the election. But Republicans winning special elections bodes ill for the DNC’s hopes of winning back the house. It doesn’t surprise me. The last few elections have made it clear that Democrats are apathetic about the party and don’t turn out to vote. Choosing Nancy Pelosi to lead the House dems and Tom Perez to lead the party will probably turn out to be a disaster in 2018.
