OMG Politics, I'm over it already.

President Obama has shown, much to his detriment, a willingness to compromise. Your words, however, show a clear unwillingness on your part to compromise.

And to your above post, yes we do have a detector. Two actually. They're called eyes and ears.

Your perception isn't fully reflective of my statements.

Compromise isn't something I "need" to do. I've long been open to the concessions that have been made in the governance of this nation. I've long understood the perspective of conservatives on various political issues. For 24 of the 44 years I've been alive, we've had Republican Presidents and they've all been bearable, maybe even good. However, Trump's choice of rhetoric to support his underlying message of change is the foulest shit that the Republicans have openly attached themselves to and made excuses for. His supporters have done the same. That said, I can, will, and do compromise. I will stay in my country, I will vote, I will teach my children to be open, understanding, and accepting and I will live that. I will be active in my community to "be the change" I want to see and teach my kids to do the same. I'm not going to stop associating with neighbors and colleagues that I know supported Trump, but I'm not going to quietly accept them say hateful things and spew misinformation, especially around my children. Here, however, I can vent my frustration with our nation's bullshit.

The eyes and ears of a shit ton of folks turned blindly and deafly to hateful rhetoric...or they agreed with it. These same folks turned blindly and deafly to policies that would be more beneficial to greater good of our country and planet to isolationist and anti-environmentalist rhetoric...or they ignored them. They listened with big open ears and read all sorts of information telling them the Hillary's history and emails compromised all of our safety and that she was evil...and they believed it to be true (even if they only wanted to to justify voting for Trump). The media and the outcome of this election have clearly shown us that our eyes and ears are totally fucked and/or are easily manipulated (including by self). People, even undoubtedly on this board, present themselves in the light that they wish to be perceived as opposed to who they really are or how they really think and feel.

Eyes and ears only see and hear what is presented...more than we'd like to think or acknowledge is a facade. And I've never hoped that more than I do with Trump.

You've said multiple times in this thread you're unwilling to compromise. If you don't want people, even here on the internet, to perceive you as uncompromising, then you shouldn't say it. After all, we only have your words to go by.

Speaking of which, looks like Gingrich might be out and Romney in.

Obviously not ideal, but I suppose it's an improvement.

Or this could all be part of the continued reality TV game show Trump's got going on.

unfortunately, for this election, any vote that was not for hillary was a vote for trump, essentially.
Butt hurt losers keep saying that but that is not correct. People who could not vote for the swine of that lying bitch Clinton or that foul mouthed pussy grabbing Trump did what was right. You got what you got because you didn't have the balls to vote for someone decent.

I may not agree with Jeff Sessions, but it's not like he can't handle the job. Romney is another good pick, if he can work with Trump.

Okay, I remember now. We don't agree on things. You perceive things your way and that's cool, in this case what you think my words mean (or what they mean to you) as opposed to what's been stated.

They're taking away my sandbox toys. No one's done shit and if you have paid attention instead of acting like you didn't get your participation trophy you would see that. Regarding the replacement of Obama care it has already been mentioned that it would take up to two years. Does that sound like getting the door slammed in your face as soon as he takes office?

We don't agree. But I'm willing to listen to Trump supporters and form my own opinion. You've stated that you're also willing to do so now, but only after being challenged on it. :)

You’ve been writing fake news for a while now — you’re kind of like the OG Facebook news hoaxer. Well, I’d call it hoaxing or fake news. You’d call it parody or satire. How is that scene different now than it was three or five years ago? Why did something like your story about Obama invalidating the election results (almost 250,000 Facebook shares, as of this writing) go so viral?

Honestly, people are definitely dumber. They just keep passing stuff around. Nobody fact-checks anything anymore — I mean, that’s how Trump got elected. He just said whatever he wanted, and people believed everything, and when the things he said turned out not to be true, people didn’t care because they’d already accepted it. It’s real scary. I’ve never seen anything like it.

You mentioned Trump, and you’ve probably heard the argument, or the concern, that fake news somehow helped him get elected. What do you make of that?

My sites were picked up by Trump supporters all the time. I think Trump is in the White House because of me. His followers don’t fact-check anything — they’ll post everything, believe anything. His campaign manager posted my story about a protester getting paid $3,500 as fact. Like, I made that up. I posted a fake ad on Craigslist.

Why? I mean — why would you even write that?

Just ’cause his supporters were under the belief that people were getting paid to protest at their rallies, and that’s just insane. I’ve gone to Trump protests — trust me, no one needs to get paid to protest Trump. I just wanted to make fun of that insane belief, but it took off. They actually believed it.

I thought they’d fact-check it, and it’d make them look worse. I mean that’s how this always works: Someone posts something I write, then they find out it’s false, then they look like idiots. But Trump supporters — they just keep running with it! They never fact-check anything! Now he’s in the White House. Looking back, instead of hurting the campaign, I think I helped it. And that feels [bad].

------------------------------------------

I don't believe he personally swayed the election but I do think his commentary on the pervasive gullibility of people when it comes to believing all the shit they see on facebook & the internet is scary true (but it's not exclusive to any one ideology, by any means).

^^^^^^
yea. it's amazing how stupid/lazy people have become. but then again, they were that stupid/lazy back when McCarthy had the country in a uproar about pinko commies taking over everything, and that wasn't true either.

people are going to believe things based on what fits their ideology, whether it is fact or fiction.

i didn't ASSUME anything. i said if they voted for someone other than clinton, then it would be helping trump.

there is no assumption there.

stop trying to twist what i say.

How can it help Trump if they didn't vote for him? Only a vote for Trump helps Trump.
