Oh my. Have we seen Gibson's LPX yet?

duct taping the very first pod to the ugliest guitar you can find would be a better option.

There used to be a guy here who did that. And for a lot less money than the Gibson.
Plus, you could pick and choose the effects.
All he needed was better distribution...

Part of the problem is that the guy clearly is not a very good player. Maybe if they got someone who can play well, it wouldn't sound so bad?

Well, it could be recorded poorly or mismatched to the amp as well. All kinds of reasons why the video might not sound good. But since they are using the video to market an expensive guitar it falls to them to make sure it sounds good in the first place.

Too many knobs....I don't have that many arms.

After all that is what feet were made for - too stomp on the freakin' box when I need a sound.

I can appreciate the general idea and the goal of the guitar - it just is not a GOOD idea. I t does not sound that good either. Gibson needs to stop trying to 'innovate' in stupid ways and get back to making top quality instruments. But we know that ain't gonna happen.

ummmm......OK, a couple of observations.

First, Hector sucks.

Second, the guitar just doesn't sound good. I too can hear the fret buzz, and it sounds out of tune or something......so much for the robot tuners.

Third, switching effects by fiddling with knobs on the guitar while you're playing doesn't seem very convenient. I mean, you hit a pedal with your feet, and BAM! instant effect. Hit it again, and BAM! it turns off. If you have fuck around with the dials to get the sound you want in the middle of a song, well,,,,,that's just stupid.

Fourth, why not make it programmable so you can program whichever effects you WANT out of it, and put that into your "magic pickup selector switch"? The technology is certainly there to do this.

The guitar just seems irrelevant, and if the demo sounds that bad, who in the world is going to want one?

I keep seeing demo's of guitars where the fucking thing is out of fucking tune. Can't these fucking people tune a fucking guitar fucking properly? Or, can't they fucking hear that the fucking guitar is out of fucking tune? and if not, why the fuck are they fucking demo'ing guitars?

Ok, I'm feeling better now.

What the hell does the headstock say? It sure doesnt say Gibson. Also the guitar in the picture and the video are very different from each other. This is really weird.

That first picture is one of the online guitar generators. It's Montag... from the Frank Montag site. I've used that site before. I'm sure it was someone trying to illustrate what the Gibson one was going to look like before they posted any official pictures or video.

Exactly. Gibson seems to be obsessed with producing guitars the public does not want nor need. They need someone in the marketing department there with at least half of a brain and/or someone in R&D who is an actual guitar player since very little of the 'gimmicks' they keep coming up with make no sense from a real players perspective.
