Question: Official Music League Thread

I think we all know what's gonna end up with the most points on this one.
Someone had the trump card and played it. As well they should. It's deserving.

Yep....I almost dumped all 6 points on that one...because. But I didn't. This play list took me back to just after HS when punk was really hitting hard. I worked with a couple huge punk fans and heard a lot of the underground stuff out at the time.

I get the distinct impression that the majority of these tubes weren't mixed or mastered with Bose headphones in mind :bigg:

I'm quite surprised the way the voting has gone on this round. Would not have guessed it at all.

So a dude from South Bend, Indiana posts a song about “Chicago” by a band from Napierville where the video was shot in a bar in Berwyn.

Story checks out.

I will admit that Group X has not aged well. But they were from my hometown of Marietta GA and my old band played with them during my college years. I couldn't think of any other local acts that would really qualify!

Not exactly local. What a crock.
I lived in Chicago and one son was born in Naperville. I should have just submitted it myself. But Chicago is not my hometown.

So to sweeten the pot, I can now reveal that in addition to the Bogner Uberschall pedal, the winner will be able to proudly display this:

In true Chicago scene fashion I was concerned that claiming “Chicago” whilst being from the burbs by posting any of the legendary Chicago bands would have been a poseur move. And then some guy from Michigan or Indiana or some place who flew through O’Hare once just bumbles into the entire situation with goofy comments about crime and corruption and Da Mayor and “LA sucks.”

My legit hometown is Winter Haven Florida so I went with Orlando because 1. It's very close and 2. Winter Haven is newly weds and nearly deads and there is not a single punk band in history from there that I can find on Spotify.

Too many great, great covers to choose from. I think the word "essential" is what we should be paying attention to. For instance, is there a cover that saved an entire genre from the museum? I'd call that an Essential Cover...
