When I saw this pedal on The JHS Show a couple of weeks ago I ordered one right away from Reverb. It’s a Korg pedal built with the Nu-Tube technology. I liked the way the Nu-Tube sounded in my Mini Super Beetle amp but it still didn’t get the sag (compression) of a tube amp with a tube rectifier. I’ve always wanted a pedal that could give me that power amp sound. I’ve had several that came close over the years but this one nails it. It has that overdriven power amp rectified sound I’ve been looking for. I even tried it in the FX loop of my solid state Lab Series amp. It sounded like a whole new amp. In my opinion this Nu-Tekt technology could be a game changer.
This pedal can go from just a touch of added warmth to full on overdriven rectifier distortion. There are three little trim pots under the rubber strip on the center left. Tone, Sustain and Threshold. A nice feature is the Mix control for blending an unaffected signal.
Now if I could only get Vox to sell the MSB 1X10” cab separately I sure would like another one. These amps sound best run at 4 ohms (50w).
