The few times I've looked on social media to read about this have been horrendous. Fucking tools don't understand that Nita was an employee of Alice Cooper and while it was a great opportunity for her, moving to this new gig is just like an IT person moving from one job to another that has better benefits, and more career viability. The other guitarist (Heather Baker) is someone that I knew many years ago and she has been having a great career being a side person for a number of big female artists who seem to prefer having all female bands. She is not locked into any one style and has the industry connections and visibility to be shortlisted for most high profile gigs of this type. If Nita Strauss stayed with Alice Cooper, the man is in his 70's and I can't imagine will be touring much longer and her visibility will be an aging and shrinking segment of the industry. She'll be pigeonholed as a metal guitarist in a world that doesn't need as many metal guitarists as it used to. The woman made (in my eyes) a very sound career move, did not burn any bridges that we can see and will probably be working for as long as she actually wants to. The misogyny and bigotry that the typical rock fan displays when challenged with anything outside of their small frames of artistic reference is disgusting. When Nuno Bettancourt toured with Rhianna, he didn't get nearly this level of shit from fans.
