SP101 is a sweet revolver. I want one in 357 with a 6 inch barrel.

I want a 1911 before a revolver.

1911s are cool and all, but nothing says BAMF like a revolver. If I could only own one handgun, it would be this

That's purdy. 686? (I don't know all the Smith models, but I like 686's)

Yep - model 686. It has the perfect set of features IMO;

Full underlug makes it a tad heavy, but it tames muzzle flip.
4" barrel is big enough to take advantage of all that powder in a 357 cartridge but still holsters fairly well
Rubber grips aren't flashy, but very practical
Adjustable sights
Stainless will never rust
Can shoot anything from fire breathing magnums to mouse-fart .38s
Reliable, smooth, accurate, and a pleasure to shoot
Will gain value over time provided that you don't abuse it

You could use one for home defense, target practice, woods carry and even hunting up to deer-size animals. About the only thing it can't do well is concealed carry

I stand to inherit one of those from 1dad at some point in the (hopefully very distant) future. He bought one in the early 80s when he worked as a police offocer and actually carried it as a duty gun for a very short time before deciding it was too nice to use everyday.
Beautiful guns but they have a reputation for being kinda fragile compared to smiths and rugers

i don't know about "fragile".....if you crank full house magnums thru them a bunch, then yea.....you're going to need to take it to a GOOD smith to get the cylinder timing reset.....but they're not "fragile".

Thats pretty much what Im talking about

As I understand it, the Colt design resuts in more wear to the hand, which, if not replaced, can result in more wear and tear to other internal parts. But its also this design that gives colt revolvers such a tight lockup.
Rugers seem to be the most durable, but least refined and least expensive. Colt is at the other end of the spectrum on all 3 factors. Smith and wesson represents a nice middle ground.

So my Black Friday purchase was a new S&W MP 9c, because Mrs Aahzz stole mine. My new holster arrived unexpectedly today - was supposed to be a 4 week wait plus shipping, got it 1 day shy of 3 weeks. Mitch Rosen Express Line 5 JR. SUPER comfy.

nice Kershaw Ken Onion....i've got one too.

I actually found that knife in the middle of the road one day while riding my bike - and yeah, it's an awesome knife and I loves it.

I've picked up all kinds of tools and even brand new cooking utensils while riding.

I had a great Kershaw hunting knife stolen from me decades ago and never could find a replacement. Time to start looking, thanks to the interwebz. The Ken Onion might be a place to start.
I have cheap MTech on order for my daily backpack use.

And this little BK3B for utility duty inside the backpack.

There's a bunch of Ken's designs that Kershaw currently produces:
Leek
Shallot
Scallion
Chive
Blur
Blackout
Whirlwind

IIRC he's collaborating w/ CKRT these days on new designs

I have a Leek that's a great knife as long as you don't do something stupid w/ the thin blade & try to use it as a pry bar or screw driver.
