Just got me a new Daisy  :embarrassed:

46 bucks from Amazon

It's not too bad. I wouldn't want to carry it every day for a year though. Totally badass though. I need to cut out my buddy's laughing at the end.

Sweet rifle! Semiauto 30-06 is definitely a beast.

Have you busted your thumb yet in that Garand?

I've shot a Garand a couple of times. Both of my brothers are big-time military uniform collectors. There is a gun range here near Kalamazoo that usually holds an M1 Garand shoot every year, in January. You have to show up in period-correct uniform though, which thanks to my brothers. I got to do. Twice I shot the Garand, and once I shot the carbine (all provided by the range).

I'm a decent shot. Not great, I'd never win a competition, but I do fairly decently. When you add a GI helmet, canteen, collapsible shovel, knapsacks, ammo pouches, etc etc. it really does make it harder to shoot accurately. I was much more accurate with the carbine quite frankly. It was just so much easier to shoot when loaded down with all that gear.

I did not like having to reload the Garand. I was always worried about it catching my thumb as I loaded the next 8 rounds in it :embarrassed:

That's what stripper clips are for. Save the thumbs!

I'm really digging the 327 Federal cartridge. It has a muzzle energy that's nipping at the heels of a 357 mag, but it does it with a faster, lighter projectile so the recoil is pretty manageable even in a small frame revolver. Added bonus; most guns that chamber it hold 1 more round than they would in .38 or .357.

I didn't like the tiny stock grips, but a $13 pair of Hogues solved that.

Edit: come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the Prages household needs a revolver.
