Your ice-cred here is pretty thin and your eastern conference bias is a obvious as the NBC announcers. Shameless.

I’ve played and watched hockey all my life. I helped coach my kid’s youth team. I re-took up adult hockey at age 40 and stopped soon after due to age. :)

My mother is Canadian. My 70'ish year old Grandmother would visit from Saskatchewan every year and she would have to suit up in goal because my brothers and I didn't want to. She had an OK blocker and wicked glove but a lousy five hole (don't go there--she was a saint--RIP)

We wanted to call her Jacques Plante but she said she didn't much like the Frenchies in the east. lol She insisted on being Glenn Hall. I was Gary Unger.

What were we talking about again?

Also when I was just a baby, my parents had several of the Blues over for Granny's German home cooking. My Mom's cousin was on the visiting team and he brought some of the Blues over for dinner. Granny fed them all and my dad got them all drunk and played half court basketball in the driveway. Sounded like a blast but I was too young to remember. Does that give me ice-cred? lol

All of these attempts to negate credibility because of the perception that folks aren't "real" fans unless their parents used a puck for a teething ring and taught them to skate before they could walk is incredibly arrogant and ultimately rather sad and insecure...
 
My son hasn't played ice hockey since since last year when he graduated high school. My garage STILL smells of hockey equipment! Surely you can smell the credibility in that!

I bought a fucking mini-van just to be able to fit my kid and his equipment along with a couple other kids who might need a ride to practice. A FUCKING MINI-VAN!!! The horror!

My wife drove it, but still.

More ice-cred I'm sure!

That wasn't embellished. And there's a long list of blown / missed / overlooked calls from Games 4 and 5, which coincidentally were after Berube whined.
 
Absolutely embellished. He IS tripped. His left leg goes up as you would expect, slight pause then arches back, right leg accelerates back in unison with arched back and then his head hit the ice. still a trip in any league. He stayed on his knees watching the play unfold. The B’s didn’t play to the whistle. Something coached at EVERY level!

Anyway.... tough titties. Welcome to the NHL zebra striped clown show. The Bruins had ten minutes to erase it but couldn’t. We lost immediately. Tough titties again. Welcome to the club. The Blues used the anger to close out the series. Will the Bruins respond or fold? Can’t wait!

Poor coach Cissidy. He looked so sad. I thought he was going to take his pucks a go home. He is being out coached in the press room and on the ice. He didn’t win over any refs or NHL execs with the tone of his comments.
He doesn’t seem to have a plan to counter the Blues forecheck and cycle. It shouldn’t have been a surprise what the Blues do. The Bruins are getting owned 5 on 5.

That missed trip isn’t why the B’s lost the game.
As good as Rask was, he needs more than one goal.

Binnington and the Blues are nearly unbeatable in games 5, 6 and 7. 7-1 now! They wear teams down. The hits pile up. We shall see what the Bruins defensemen are made of in game six. They look weary to be the first one to the puck. They looked slow.
 
The wheels seem pretty loose on the blue bus now. All they have to do is win a game 7 on the road, against a re-energized Boston. Binnington looked out of gas last night.
 
It is weird that there doesn’t seem to be a home- ice advantage in the NHL.
I think the Blues are under 0.500 now at home in the playoffs.
I think they are 9-3 on the road.

If they win Wed they would be the first Stanley Cup winner to have a losing record at home.

I think the Bruins also have a better road record than home record.
 
Amazing finish. 2 years in a row in which a team won who had never won before.

Lots of players who were developed in their system and some cast offs from other teams...also 18 or 19 Canadians. For the Blues to triumph in a game 7 in Boston - huge.
 
Congrats to the blues! They really are a great road team. Beating Boston in game 7 in their home is a huge accomplishment.
 
So now, the NHL team with the longest championship drought is the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Kinda mind-boggling, when you think that Toronto is the richest city in the biggest hockey country in the world. They should've been able to buy enough talent to win a couple of championships since their last one, 50+ years ago.
