Yes, a sweep in this scenario in the 1st round is definitely a rarity...I bet there are a lot of stunned players in that dressing room right now. They were very dominant this year.

DeBoer should be fired for starting Jones again. What is it they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

And just how did that work out? DeBoer was clearly not happy. Not sure what he thought was going to happen.
 
Well I have tickets to game 5 which looks to be an elimination game. I kind of hate to go but it will be the last time I get together with my hockey buddy for a while so I'll go and hope for a delay of what looks to be inevitable.

Not sure what they are going to do about the goalie situation but it's been an issue all year long (along with too many turnovers which hasn't helped the goalies a lot). Dell is more of a risk taker and can be spectacularly good or bad (think Halek for a comparison). Given the way things have gone I would have started Dell last night anyways and for sure would start him Thursday but hindsight....
 
As happy as Toronto/Boston must be to see the Bolts gone, the way CBJ played they now look to be a problem. They were really moving the puck well and Bob was playing well again. Maybe the Sharks should consider him :idea: he's a free agent this coming year I think

So I was there. It was strange that it wasn't called right away. From where I sat and watched it was a clear high stick and I thought it was 4 not 2. I guess losing a couple of teeth doesn't count as much as a cut :shrug: Not sure if the Sharks will be able to force a 7th game but the response tonight was exactly what you would expect. The crowd was energized, the Sharks came out with a purpose (for a change) and Jones was good. Give credit to DeBoer, everyone was worried about him starting Jones but Jones was solid...I guess that's why he's the coach and we are armchair quarterbacks (or coaches)

It was a really fun game to be at frankly :grin:

Being from the Chicago area, it has been ingrained to despise the Blues, although historically it was easy to do, anyway :grin:; however, not being the collection of asshats they used to be makes this series easier to swallow. Man, the Jets seemingly have all the tools, but just never together at the same time to make a serious playoff run these last few years. Oh, well.

You gotta give the Blues credit for being able to turn the season around on a dime after shitcanning Yeo. Berube has apparently done a hell of a job.

The lack of any sort of genuine "WTF are you thinking?!???!" from management reminds me of when I was the guest of the Musial family for the '85 World Series. At the time, Boston was awash in racism, a veritable sitz bath of bigotry. Saint Louis made them look like amateurs when it came to casual, deep-seated racism.

"Biggest buncha whiners in the West..." And that's saying something. I think Leafs fans have that honor sewed up in the East.

Fuck the Leafs. Really looking forward to tonight; NBC has to be deliriously happy with how this has gone.
