Fake crab? Krab??
Looks yummy, though.
rather than using just water to seal them, you can also use an egg wash (just an egg beaten with some water) which I have found seals better and if you use a bit on the outside helps give a nice golden brown sheen. Also, peanut oil or just regular veggie oil fries better than olive oil and is much cheaper.
I'll try the egg thing.
My wife won't eat anything that is fried unless it is fried in olive oil.
Ok then
She sounds 'expensive'
I'd hate to guess what it would cost to fill both our deep friers with EVOOmessedup0, probably about the same as filling the suburban.
Have you ever made potstickers? They are very similar to the wontons, and you use a lot less oil. Yummy.
She's just freaky about food. We rarely fry anything...but yeah, it is expensive...I am on a quest to find a less expensive olive oil blend to fool her, er, I mean...
Potstickers? Sounds good...I will have to find a recipe unless you have one!
just save the old bottles, fill them up with a blend. Start 70/30 olive to veggie and add a bit less olive each time. idn_smilie
We make pork and chicken potstickers. get the butcher to grind up some chicken breasts for you, you don't need that much. Should be lots of recipes on the net, it's been a while since I helped make the filling. We use the round wonton wrappers, the egg wash then fry/steam them. They should be brown on the bottom, and crispy. The tops are just steamed. The dipping sauce is key to your success.
No prob! That sounds yummy...my youngest kid is freaked out by cream cheese...so these sound like they are more up her alley! Thanks man!
