SO it looks as though the guitar will arrive tomorrow...
the day I work from 9 AM to 9 PM and get home about 9:45.

Yeah, the UPS hub is far from home, and both jobs. Oh well.Bummer. I hate when I get something shipped by UPS and the shipper blocks the hold at UPS option. I am a block from the UPS hub when I go out for breakfast, so I can have my item at 8 am. If I'm lucky, UPS will get to my house by 5 PM. I work from home, so I lose 9 hours with it
Nah... It's been a long time since that place was anything more than a way for Paul Green to make money.Nice!

I'm probably not a good fit for that site; I am hardly the usual Tele player.Nice!

I don't play rock, country, or jazz. I don't play lead guitar. I rarely play electric guitar.Define 'usual Tele player'.

Okay, I should say that my interests and skills lay in different directions from many electric guitar players. Actually from many acoustic players as well. All I have ever wanted to do is play enough chords to back up my singing and write songs. This forum has acclimated to my strangeness; I see no need to go elsewhere. This
No need to explain. I think you picked a great guitar for what you want to do. Even thought they are so simple and straight forward, Teles can do just about anything. And do it very well. Maybe it’s because they are so simple.Okay, I should say that my interests and skills lay in different directions from many electric guitar players. Actually from many acoustic players as well. You may have noticed that I have little to contribute to gear discussions or theory discussions. It just isn't where I'm at.
What I mean, really, is that the place used to have a family feel, ESPECIALLY when Noam Pikelny ran the place. Paul resurrected it after Noam gave it up and it was good for a while but then it became one of those places where if you farted the wrong note while reading a post you got banned. @bsman got dinged for altering somebody's quote doing the classic "Fixed that for ya!" bit. It was BS. I do miss the way it was, though.I find a lot of good info on there, hasn't cost me a cent yet (to tdpri anyway)

I generally find any information I need right here; so I will hold off on them unless I have some burning need that isn't met here. I am not anticipating it, though. It's a huge site, and they have their way of doing things. I don't really understand why they get butt hurt if you reply to an old thread on a particular subject of interest. Then if you start a new thread, someone will ask if you tried the search feature. Whatever, when I am there I try to go along with their ways. I just like the site because there is a shit ton of Tele related (and general guitar related) info there to cull.
BY next week you'll be ordering a 4 way switch, and an S-1 switch...........I generally find any information I need right here; so I will hold off on them unless I have some burning need that isn't met here. I am not anticipating it, though.

True, better order a Callaham or Wilkinson bridge post haste.Well I guess it is up to me to inform you that you have the 'wrong' bridge. Sorry.
The saddles go without saying. Not to mention saddles. Compensated, brass, aluminum, steel or the much lauded Aluminum/Brass mixed set.
Tone is in the baseplate.
