I used to love Miller when he was an equal opportunity offender. 9/11 snapped something in the right that hasn't been the same since. There were a whole bunch of good folks that got swallowed up in the post-9/11 fervor and those that didn't were basically escorted out of office.

Dennis Miller used to be the smartest, funniest mofo in the business. His bizarre analogies and cerebral references were pure gold. I don't know exactly when he succumbed to the dark side and lost his fucking mind, but now he just makes me either terribly sad, or he makes me want to kick him in the taint.

I used to feel the same way. The flashpoint seems to have been 9/11.
I've read that some of the folks that worked with him for so many years on SNL have said that he was always sort of like that behind the scenes. Apparently 9/11 just intensified it and brought it out into the open. And also made his humor gland stop secreting properly.
