Back in the olden days I well remember driving with the door open, looking down to see if I was on pavement or not. No one else was stupid enough to be on the road that dayYou know you're off the road when you feel your wheel drop off the edge of the pavement.
During the 2019 Colorado Bomb Cyclone, I had my wife roll down her passenger window to act as spotter for the edge of the road. We passed many accidents, stuck vehicles, downed light poles, downed power poles. But, our new AWD Dodge Charger did great and got us home safe.
