What?
This thread is so awesome!
I think it will look great with the top loaded Tele control plate and no pickguard! Sounds like a perfect combo with the surf green finish. One option is to go for a control plate with a chopped Tele pickguard. I did it once on a La Cabronita build and liked the look (though I think the guard should have been a little bit larger - probably extending all the way to the edge of the pickups like on a regular La Cab.)

I say no F-hole. Or maybe come up with something that mirrors your headstock?Ok, had a little time to work on this tonight.
Unclamped the blank and may run out to the shop to plane it down. This is going to be the back side and I think I'm going to break Cabronita tradition and put a traditional top loaded tele control plate instead of rear routing the controls. I'm foregoing the pickguard though, the back will be stained and I'm thinking a surf green top with a maple fretboard. I have a bridge lying around from my old Hamer Special. It's a nice hunk of brass with individual saddles.

I'll probably sink it into the top to account for the thickness of the base plate.
Here's the blank unclamped.

Here's what I've come up with for the chambering. The chambering will be cut, then the top glued on, then the pickup cavities for the TV Jones, the bridge cavity, the neck cavity, and the control cavity will be routed. Then the body will be cut out. I have a piece of cherry that I might use for the top.

Now, help me pick a sound hole/F hole. Or no hole, just the chambering? I think the standard top loaded tele control plate will be a nice accent to the surf green, especially with no pickguard and the TV Jones'. What do you all think?
