Jogging

I could do a 7 minute mile in high school.

I've smoked and drank a lot since then though.

I finished the 5k in 29:10, and I was shooting for under 30:embarrassed:0, so I'm pretty happy with that.

We're doing an 8k in January. I figure 45:embarrassed:0 is an attainable goal for that one.

legs are little sore, laid off for a bit but just finished a light 30 minute jog icon_jogging oldi

No jogging today, it's raining and nothing to do messedup0 don't like it messedup0

Well the weather sure is mild for this time of year. Was going to go jogging but just went for an hour and 20 minute walk.

Any of you all still hitting the pavement or trails smi

We haven't been able to run outside for a couple of weeks because it's been too freakin' cold.

We do have a 10k coming up in a couple of weeks though, so I probably should get at least a few runs in before then to make sure my knees have fully recovered from the 25k and the 8k.

I need to start running a bit. January is returning again so our nice weather is heading south but I can at least walk around the lake. Maybe I can try to run a 5K sometime this summer. The problem is that I hate running alone...

I envy all of you. I run from the couch to the fridge and then back to the couch before the show comes back on.

Im still doing the elliptical for 1/2 hour as soon as i get home from work each day. I'd love to jog, but i dont think my old bones can take the pounding. I think when summer comes again i'll start trying though, just short distances.

We did a little 3 mile jog today after work. I did some laps on the pool at lunch. We're still working at it, but it's slow going.

Tomorrow we go to the climbing gym. Hopefully that will be fun.

I am trainig for track but due to all of our original coaches quiting, we now have a new one...

He has a policy that says "Stretching is not important"...

I injured my calfs and it hurts to walk let alone run...

I am so close to varsity, but with them improving and my trying to run with out pain is hard...but I am slowly getting back into the feel of thing...

(I hope we get to stretch soon...)

Actually, in the Jeff Galloway book he tells you not to stretch, but to slowly warm up by walking and then running slow before you do your thing. He contends that more injuries happen because runners over stretch...I still stretch my back but I ease into my runs and do pretty well.

Hmmmmmmmm...

Maybe that's what he is getting at...

I have been pushing at the beginning...so there may be an accual point to that...

WAIT!

Today on our run, I warmed up and streched and felt great!

Before, I felt like crap due to no warm up and stretching time...

So that proves to me that stretching is good...at least for me...

I bought one of these stepping meters today.

Walked about 57500 feet. Wow!!

It's pretty cool, hope to try it out for jogging, maybe it works for jogging too.

Is anyone else running in the rain like I am?

My coach is making us run in the rain and doesn't change our workout at all...

I think that is where I got my cold...

I haven't run since my race a few weeks ago...it'll be a few months before I can get back to it....
