Jogging

Well, I decided to keep it on the treadmill today at work, so that if I did break I wouldn't be that far out in the boonies. rolleyes1 I didn't break, but I could definitely feel the tweak. I think if I just keep taking it slow to build it back up and try to keep doing more leg exercises at home it just might heal up before the next race series starts up. Cross your fingers for me. wave0

icon_jogging well I just got back from a 2 hour and 15 minute jog and walk, weather was nice and just noticed the mallard ducks now that arrived for the fall feeding season. Along the river sometimes there are over 500 of them and they look like the Mississippi mallard ducks. I don't if people actually eat these. At least around here I don't think they do. Need to find where these ducks come from.

icon_jogging are you all jogging to this :wings: sure looks good, hey where's the sushi stirthepot

jogge9 Well it's Sunday evening and just got back from a 40 minute jog. Feel great, the air is autumn crisp too. lmbo

I wish I could run them that easily...I'm hoping my new shoe purchase will keep the injuries down...

Looks like Mrs. P and I are doing another 5k on Sunday. thwap

Have fun....

Do you run with her on the 5K's you do together, or do you each try for your own best times??

I haven't run a 5K in over a decade... :embarrassed:ntome:

We stay fairly close to each other. We've only done a few races together at this point.

The first one was a month after I ran over my foot with the lawn mower, and it was called 'The Dirty Dog', which meant that your dogs ran with you. It was a 15k. Between my gimpy foot and the fact that Cooper pulled so hard the first 1/2 of the race that he ran out of gas for the second 1/2, Mrs. P finished a good 20 minutes ahead of me.

For the 5k we did on Thanksgiving, we were within a few hundred feet of each other for the entire race.

Prages is very sweet and will wait up for me a little and let me catch him and then go on again to keep me going. He's a good boy and he's doing a great job of getting me over the loss of my regular running partner due to making babies.

It's more fun that way anyway. Running races alone sucks (which is why I quit racing). Kudos to Prages for stepping up to the task!

Glad this thread is alive. Actually I have been walking because of the weather, but putting in an hour walk, hopefully the weather will bring in some decent jogging weather and I'll be trucking icon_jogging

Well it's Friday night now. Got in 1 hour walk, not bad weather. Have some coffee now I think. Any of you still jogging, I know it must be freezing in most places. oldi

Nice day so I went for a 45 minute jog. Feel great after a little layoff icon_jogging

4 miles in 35 minutes isn't too shabby at all.

At my peak of fitness in the Marines I did 3 Miles in 20:embarrassed:0 flat. There were plenty who did it in 17:embarrassed:0, which was the best you could do "score" wise.

Right now I am doing 3 miles in about 26 minutes, which is still a decent time for a non-athlete.

Pretty much anything under 8-9 mins a mile over 3 or more miles and you're in decent shape.
