It's a dry heat

Past week, disgusting. Forecast, disgusting.

Agreed. It’s 50% humidity and in the low 90s and the fucking sun will not relent. It’s only slightly more humid in New Orleans right now. I think it’s actually more humid in central Illinois than in America’s crotch at the moment.

S'been more like 60 here in the afternoon lately. The grass is wet in full sun at 5 pm. Stupified wabbits laid out everywhere.

THIS AFTERNOON:
Becoming mostly cloudy, very warm and humid with scattered showers and thunderstorms.
High: 87; Heat Index: 90 to 95
Wind: SW 6-12 MPH

here's what I'm dealin' with

Just be thankful you don't live in Yuma.
119° on Sunday.
yep Yuma is a hellhole. How long have you been in Phoenix? Do you remember the early 90's heat fest/ it was either 90 or 94 . Tucson was bad enough but holy bcrap you guys had a high of 122 i think and your cool day that week was like 116

Another day of 'extremely humid'. Yay. Just turned 10am and already it is RealFeel 93 in the moist, moist shade.

The humidity is ridiculous here.
We’ve finally got some rain this evening but it’s been just short bursts and only made the humidity worse.

First world problem: our pool is too damned hot. It was reading just a hair under 90F today.

I know it is, which is why I said it. *spits* Dry 82 with no sun would be great.

well the sun gethot and bright by 6:30 here ...

There a good thread in my Nextdoor...some newbie is on ly on her second summer here

Screen Shot 2020-07-10 at 6.24.44 AM.png

and then the OP said "It's only the second week of July and not even the hottest time of the year yet" and then someone corrected her...

Actually, this *is* the hottest part of the summer. June is statistically the hottest month, and July is humid, which is miserable. It will cool off on Halloween!

and then I chimed in with my two cents and some typos *spits*

Yep this is correct. July and August is our humid months but the trade off is usually more cloud cover and rain relief. I've lived in Tucson over 40 years and I've always worked outside. so 88 inside is acceptable lol. The place I'm at has an AC unit and swamp cooler and I refuse to run the AC because of the price. In an old inefficient house that was built before AC was a consideration. When I did run it the bills were right around 200 dollars this time of year and that was to keep it at 82 degrees. I much prefer the 75 dollar bill now even though it gets 88 inside and nights are a sweatiest lol Just realise no matter what July and August suck in Tucson except for the groovy thunderstorm action.

Funniest thing I've ever read. *spits*

see the thing is ....it's like driving a car at 100mph....if you hit a wall made of jello you gonna die where as at 30 yer just gonna need a lot of front end and body work. Same goes for humidity. Don't discount sun intensity as well. Would you rather be in the middle of Death valley , no shade and blazing hot dry heat at 117 or in a canopy of shade trees, green grass and a lake at 90 with 75 percent humidity and a real feel of 101....I'm taking the latter if for no other reason because I am don't wanna risk death. the former might be uncomfortable as all get up but the latter poses an actual threat of death from exposure *spits*
