I think I lost my mind and bought an SG

Oof that's sexy. I've never bonded with an SG, but they look so good, and that one exceptionally so.

I like the look, too. Reminiscent of a trap tail, which is a good thing in my book.
Nice looking hunk of mahogany.
 
I wanted to get one of those natural-burst roasted maple f/b SG's a couple of years ago. People seem to be holding on to 'em though, I never see them up on reverb or ebay. I doubt I'd buy one now, unless it was a steal of a deal.

I've got an SG Melody Makercwith the maple board and it is light as a feather, but heavy as depleted uranium, if you catch my drift. Too bad my son has it these days...
 
One of our music shops over here had them advertised for 999€ I think, and I thought boy, if I was in the market that would be a good deal.

No idea. I bought it online and it isn't here yet. According to the Gibson page it is a copy of an early 60's Gibson slim "true D" neck carve. Based on the measurements they provide it is 0.800" deep at the 1st fret and 0.895" deep at the 12th, which is sort of in between the classic 60's Slim Taper and the earlier 50's style neck....but closer to the slim taper. The 60's slim taper is 0.765" at the 1st fret and 0.795" at the 12th. I don't really mind thin necks, so I'm not so worried about it.
