Good timin'! You'll get through there before the really hot weather hits.
I did basic there on Harmony Hill and then AIT at Ft. Jackson 42 years ago.

8 weeks. In that time, I lost maybe 10# of "baby" fat and came out 20# heavier. That's +30# muscle.

tank mechanic, 63a I believeHave fun. Basic is a mind game. Lots of yelling and screaming and lots of physical labor. No actual beatings from the Drill Sergeants, but you will feel like you have been beaten by them after a while.
What's your MOS

5'6" 167yeah, I'm a fatass.
I'm about 15-20 pounds away from my fighting weight.
I'll be very shocked if the Army can manage to get me back in fighting shape. I'm certain I won't gain any muscle mass.
There's no way I'll lose 20 pounds in 2 months at basic training. I've got it to lose but it will not happen in two months. I'll put a friendly wager on itFunniest thing I've read in a while! lmbo
Best of luck to you - and stay the hell out of Alabama.
- When they tell you "Do not go there", they mean "Do not go there."
this somehow, tragically, makes a lot of sense.
Maybe he'll learn some manners. I'd love to see the beatdown he gets when he tells his DI that Patton was the architect of crap tactics.
