My brother on the other hand woke me up at 6 on my only (now) proper day off this week... to find HIS battery clamn for HIS car's MOT.
 
Good stuff wok :thu: Don't get my results for a few weeks yet. I'm hoping for a first, last years average was about 75% and this years for coursework has been 76% (just waiting on the results of 3 exams and my final year project).
 
:gah: I've lost the remote for my AC unit so I can't switch the one in the living room on and can't switch the one in the room off :(

Heard it through the grapevine today (and I hope it's someone just fucking with me for a laugh) that since the school is struggling to fillt he vacancies they have advertised this year my idiot co-ordinator who struggled to complete a grade 6 exam paper will be teaching my subject upto IGCSE and SAT level next year.

The school is going to end up undoing all of the positive steps it's taken this year by pulling stunts like this because Ive heard about other people being bounced all around the departments with no real experience or expertise in the subject areas just to make sure that the timetable is covered. :eek:

How fuckign annoying are those vuvuzela things? I'd actually prefer to hear the maniac arab commentary instead of this stupid buzzing for 90 minutes.
 
I've been thinking about my epi g400 custom that one of my best bud's from high school has had sitting gathering dust for years.

Providing he hasn't wrecked the thing I'm going to pick it up when I get back, refinish it properly (as opposed to just blasting it at close range with a tin of metallic blue spray paint :facepalm: ) this time, rip out the 3 humbuckers and put in 2 p90s.

Could be a fun summer project providing I get the thing back. I don't even have his phone number anymore. :shrug:

I trust a wonderful weekend was had by all?

Mine was great. Nothing hapeened or anything but it was nice to do bugger all for a couple of days.

WEIRD BATTERY INCIDENT - Indeed. I ws tuning my guitar yesterday with a pencil battery powered tuner when i dropped the thing (onto carpet from about a metre, so no big deal). Ive dropped it a thousand times and its got ruber around the edgeds anyway to protect it. Anyhoo i plugged it back in and it didnt work!

'weird', i thought.

I decided that maybe one of the batteries had moved or something and opened up the back to have a look. I then tipped it on its side and let the batteries fall into my hand. BIG MISTAKE, well sort of, one of the batteries was normal, i.e cold, but the other i had to instantly drop as it was fecking red hot.

Whats all that about then?

I just left it on the floor and moved away a bit in case it exploded. Sadly, it didnt and after having put new batteries into my tuner it works fine.

So what happened there then?
 
almost evening here acadiafall, getting ready to start work after a day of bumming around all day :)
 
Are you sure you were using a tuner and not a stove?


That would account for the heat and its inadequacy as a tuning device :shrug:

Hey Acadia, it's rare, but a knock can damage a battery internally. That's why you get warnings like "Do not strike, throw or subject the battery to physical shock." (actual warning from a manual I'm working on)

Glad it didn't blow your hands off or anything.

I have to say I'm really getting into this World Cup, despite the fact that neither my team nor my backup team even qualified. I'm in a pool at the local bar and my two teams are Ghana and Germany. A draw is one point and a win is 3 points. So far I'm two games in and 6 points up! :)
 
I have to say that Germany were pretty awesome last night.

Extremely well organised and youadd to that a bunch of very good players and i do believe we may have seen the world champions in action.

Ok ok that may be a bit too far seeing as how we havnt even seen Holland or Brazil play yet, but i was greatly impressed last night.

of course it could just be that Australia are completely pants.
 
Nah Germany played great event hough Australia were shite.

We've seen a handful of games so far where easy teams should have been demolished but the sausage munchers are the only ones that have managed to bag more than 2 goals...

Saudi Wednesday marking the > half way point of the week.

My back is still sore so I'm getting the compound masseuse to beat the shit out of it in a few hours and I'm debating whether to watch the Holland game here in the flat or down at the rec on the swanky flatscreen.

I can't believe I'm getting out of this place in just over 3 weeks!!!!!!! eep.

Oh yeah I'm really gassing about building this metallic tangerine / orange jazzmaster now so along with that and being booked up for Oktoberfest I've got a good few reasons to try and avoid gainful employment abroad for the near future.:thu:
 
pfff, been back to the daily 9-5 grind since 2 weeks and i had forgotten how horrible it was :( .I wish i was still a student
 
Spare a thought for me.

In just under a week I'll be having to slog it from half 7 in the morning all the way round to 11am :grin::embarrassed:
