I remember one of the dudes from the Clash had a song that started with a really cool and uncharacteristic keyboard intro...

It was Mick Jones with Big Audio Dynamite, the song Rush, but it didn't come out until 1991...and the lyrics don't match.

Isn't that the intro from Deep Purple's "Child in Time"?

IIRC, the organ intro is kind of like "Toccata in D Minor", very dramatic, but rather short.
