Becoming a caretaker is the fucking hardest thing in the world. I had a brain injury last May, and now my wife is ill. In between I had to terminate my mother's life support. Emotionally it's been horrible, but you know: I'll recover. What I don't fucking get is how people can take care of others and have a normal life (job, friendships, etc.).

Doug, you have my strong, heartfelt wishes for all things to turn out well for you and your wife. If we can help, why not let us know?
