Oh, I’ve been looking at that. But I also just got a Heritage LP (with children’s pickups for @Flamencology) and don’t exactly want to double up too much from a general feel/vibe standpoint.

Anyway, I’m totes down the rabbit hole at this point and getting bids for custom abominations. It’s all decidedly too much and I’ve almost hit the random boring purchase to end it all or random ridiculous purchase button multiple times.

I know my decision-making abilities are reaching their limit when I start shopping for White Falcons.

If I didn't already have 2 PRSs the DGT SE goldtop is what I'd buy. The best demo for me is still Grissom himself playing it and then checking out the live clips. I've seen him play live at the Saxton three times, with his custom US DGTs and his American PRS amps...those clips of him playing the SE through the SE amp... They really speak to the player always being the most important part of the equation.

The diminishing returns on buying a US-made PRS (especially "core" models) keep growing and growing. They're becoming even more of a prestige line than the perception has been. The SE stuff just keeps getting better, but they also keep jacking up the prices there.

I'm not sure any SE model needs to cost more than $1,000, but people seem to be paying it...also, the DGT SE (at least) should come with locking tuners.

If we've graduated to posting our normal GAS at the moment, I have to say that I've been drooling over Hagstrom Super Swede's on eBay Classified Ads.
 
I still lust after the Collings hollow-bodies and semis. Or if we are really going full fantasy here, how about one of those fancy boutique archtops that keep showing up in my feeds for some reason?

Could be witchcraft/coincidence, but at this price point why risk it.

Oooh, German carve is a cool option. I think the one you posted had a staple P90 in the neck and a HB in the bridge, is that the configuration you want? The staple P90 is a very righteous choice. It's basically a DeArmond Dyna in P90 clothing.

I think all your color choices are fantastic too. I'm swinging little bit toward sonic blue.
 
Well, being down at the bottom of the rabbit hole I’ve psyched myself out that I need all sorts of unobtanium specs on this guitar which I’ve still not decided on and am now letting spec availability determine the purchase.

I think this situation I’m in is actually some sort of cursed fairy boon from some folktale.

At any rate, I was like “this 100% needs to have stainless frets” and then I went and showroomed some shit half remembering that I didn’t exactly dig stainless frets.

Super plinky based on about 7 different samples . At least to my ears which tend to be fussy about random noises to my eternal annoyance. Is this why @Mark Wein doesnt choose stainless and quit destroying frets?

So this whole annoying thing might come in for a landing? Or I’ll wind up dancing in the land under the hill until my feet are stumps while a changeling takes my place in the waking world. Hope you enjoy commuting, asshole.
