Achtung! Guitar Center is toast

Geez, GC has filed for bankruptcy more times than a certain guy whose name escapes me...

FYI, my mail order business lately has mostly been American Musical, ProAudioStar, and Strings and Beyond. I haven't wandered into my local GC for quite a while.

I went in the the local GC back in July to buy a case. Their electric guitar inventory was terrible. At best the guitar wall was 1/2 full. While I am no fan of GC, there are fewer and fewer places to actually play a physical guitar in person prior to purchase, and amps, etc. That is not a good thing.

Right, but that's largely their fault.

If/when GC goes under, who is going to sell Gibsons? Do they still have that $150,000 minimum purchase requirement for their authorized dealers? Not many local music shops will be able to do that.

Might not be an issue. I believe the world’s most authentic guitar brand is in a bit of a crunch because they haven’t been able to keep up with demand during the pandemic guitar boom.
